Thanks everyone!

Got my visa around 11am, they returned everything that we submitted aside from the forms. I also received the GCMS notes last July 3, requested June 2, but yea that doesn't matter anymore ;D Very thankful that the visa arrived before the booked flight on July 21 :D

Again, thanks everyone! It was very nice meeting wonderful people all throughout the process. I hope that everyone will get to the finish line very soon.

Congrats Rosey! Happy for you :)

I requested for my GCMS notes last May 22, followed up a few weeks back and got a reply that they never received the request so now they asked me to resubmit the forms. Hope to get that soon to see what's going on. So you're lucky to get it all in good timing.

very lucky indeed, the other day my husband said that his supposed to be vacation on sept was moved to july20-28, just in time for my booked flight. :D things are starting to get real good, i just hope my dad's biopsy result tomorrow is as good.

did you not get a confirmation email when you first requested your gcms notes?

Oh yeah, good luck with that. I hope it'll go well so you can leave without any hesitation.

I got a confirmation email with a temporary tracking number but nothing after that. I'll see how long it'll take them again this time.

At least it's summer here and there's a lot to do outdoors. That'll distract me from the waiting game. I'm sure you'll enjoy the season too once you arrive.

i requested mine june 02, got the same confirmation email, then they sent it july 03. i made another request today, curious with what happened in between ppr and dm. :D

Ok so a bit of a problem. My wife loves to choose weird email addresses and then forget them. When we submitted the application she said her address was correct. Now I went over the application and double checked it with the actual address and the one on the application is wrong. I sent a message to the VO but it says it could take up to 28 days to hear anything. My question is what would happen if they sent an email to the wrong address? Would it cause problems if they requested something but we never replied? My application status on the website says application received still but I know it's not reliable. My application was received November 20th, 2012 so I'm worried because they might have sent something.

Oh, you should get one, it will contain your temporary tracking number. Was your card charged? Did you get a receipt?

Well since she's from Japan you won't get a passport request. So there's not a lot to wait for besides her COPR in the mail, unless you think they will request additional documents. I'm sure the embassy will take note of your email sooner than you think, and in the meantime if you're feeling uneasy you could request your GCMS notes by email (which take a month to arrive). It should be happening soon for you.

Thanks Steph. In the message to them I did request them to include me in any email communication that might happen in the future. So for Japanese they just send the COPR in the mail and notify you that it's coming via email?

I'm not totally sure about how it works for Japan. But I think that the indication that you will get your visa is when ECAS says Decision Made. They are slow to respond to email updates, but I think they will add it to your file asap. I think that something so important as an email address should be displayed on your ECAS so that you're able to check and verify it yourself. But that's just common sense, right? ;) Keep in mind they're having job action, so the last few weeks have been slow.

Totally agree! Especially when it says on the application that all communication will go through email :P

Thanks again for the quick reply! Everyone on this forum is fantastic and has great advice :D

The only way they will do that is if you make yourself an "Authorized Representative". We did so and even then, I was not included on every communication.
