so mp got a reply today:

I have received a response to my email that I sent yesterday.

They have confirmed that they do have the passport, that the medical is still valid, initial review is on the file and completed and that they are just waiting for the eligibility assessment.

They did not give me a time frame, so I have responded and asked for one.

waiting for the eligibility assessment? whatdaf000k? we gave them passport, rprf receipt, everything they've asked for and more. what is left to assess? uugghhh so frustrating....
maybe they are still doing security background check... give it more time and patience, visa will be there soon... ;) ;)

By the time they request the passport everything has been assessed. They need to generate the counterfoil and there may be a queue.

I guess your question isn't totally clear. You said your son is non accompanying, but you're asking if he will get a visa?

A word of advice - sponsor your son now with your application as an accompanying dependent. Pay the fee. Get him to land and receive a PR card. He can return to the Philippines and do his college within the validity of the PR requirements (just under 3 years) They're changing the age of dependents to 18 years of age and since he is college age he will be cut off very soon from the chance to come here.

If somehow he doesn't fit the requirements at this time, they will not deny you or your other son. But this will delay your application. Do you think he fits the requirements at the moment?

I don't think you will get a refund for his application fee. But hold off on paying the RPRF fee.

* update.. he's 23 and just enrolled in school? It doesn't seem to fit the requirements that I remember. I think if you pay that fee you will lose the money. Why don't you try and get him on a student visa for Canada.
Thank you so much Steph C I have a better view of these things now, please help me on how we can get him on a student visa, I really don't know what's the best thing to do with him, we really need all of you who can help us...

If we will get him on a student visa do we need to find first a school for him there and pay the fees?If not what shall we do...We really need advice on the best thing that we should do for him to be accompanying...

Please help us everyone...

Thank you so much as always...

God bless you more...

Looks like her application had lots of issues. Over a year and a half to get to PPR. Maybe she pulled the plug?

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was received at the Embassy of Canada in Manila on 05 February 2013.

A file has been created with the application number noted above. Please ensure that you quote this application number in any future correspondence with our office.

At the end of this document is a request for additional documentation required within 45 days.

Once you have complied with this request, if any additional information or documentation is required to assess your application, we will contact you or your designated representative.

Please note that the documentation requested in this letter is required even if you receive a subsequent letter from our office asking for additional documentation.

Due to limited resources dedicated to processing the thousands of applications currently in process, we are unable to respond to requests for status updates on your file if they fall within the average processing times.

Interview

You are not required to present yourself in person at the Embassy unless you are specifically requested to do so or specifically convoked to an interview. A decision will be made by an officer regarding whether or not an interview is reasonably required in due course. At this time, no interview has been scheduled.

If an officer determines that an interview is required, you will be notified at a later date. You will be notified in writing of any requirements for your interview, if required, prior to the date of the interview, and you will be provided with further instructions at that time.

Change in circumstance

Please advise by fax or email if there is a change in your personal circumstances, or the personal circumstances of any of your family members. This might include situations such as the birth of a child, a marriage, a legal separation, annulment, or divorce. (See our contact information below.)

You are required to report any changes in family composition for members of your family (whether accompanying you to Canada or not) without delay. This includes situations in which your or one of the children included on your application has become the parent of a child.

Exclusion: Unexamined Family Members

Please be advised that paragraph 117(9)(d) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations excludes from future sponsorship any foreign national who is not declared/examined at the time his/her prospective sponsor applies for and obtains permanent residence. If you (or any of your family members) fails to declare and present for examination any family member as defined by the Regulations, then you (or your family member) will not be able to sponsor that undeclared family member at a later date as a member of the family class.

Subsection 1(3) of the Regulations defines "family member" in respect of a person as (a) the spouse or common-law partner of the person; (b) a dependent child of the person or of the person's spouse or common law partner; and (c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b). Please consult section 2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations for the definitions for "Common law partner" and "dependent child".

All family members, whether or not they are accompanying you to Canada, MUST be declared and presented for examination to assess whether they are admissible to Canada. A false declaration on your IMM5406 (Additional Family Information form), any failure to declare a family member, or failure to present a "family member" for examination may be found to constitute misrepresentation and may render you inadmissible to Canada.

Notification in Writing

You must also inform us in writing of any

Change of address, including change of e-mail address (for any family member including children who may have a school address as well as a home address)

Change or cancellation of immigration representative; or

Request for withdrawal of your application.

Appendix A only requires those that are immigrating. The sponsor spouse does not need to be included. Just the primary applicant and any children.

Hey MarcJD

Congrats first of all...

1) You just need to send the Appendix A for your wife as you don't have kids. You don't need to include her parents or brother.
2) Looks like you send it to the address in middle of the email. (but maybe someone else can answer this that has done it recently)
3) MAKE SURE YOU SEND A COPY OF THE EMAIL. It states this at the end
4) don't forget to send her passport.

Best of luck
