hey CJG, did you decide to go out to meet your wife at Vancouver? She has a long layover so I can see why you would want to do it.

Guys I need help regarding flights asap! :) we will use cathay pacific via manila-hongkong-toronto.

My question is how do you check in and have your boarding pass? We will land on terminal 1 in hong kong. If possible step by steph procedure. Thanks! :)

you'll get your boarding pass in the check in counter .. after you paid travel taxes ... the question now .. is have you paid travel taxes .. that was 1625 +750 peso in 2010 .. if not as soon as you go in naia1 look for that counter pay for it and get the receipt then go to the check in counter ..

in 2012 i went back to ph but having a pr card they just asked me to pay 250 peso i think ..

If you fly cathay for both sections then you should get them in manila. If not, you need to go to the transfer desk in HK and get the boarding pass. Do not worry much, the cathay staff at HK airport are very helpful and will guide you.

One word of caution is make sure you keep a print out of your electronic ticket. You may need it to go through a security checkpoint if you do not have your boarding pass.

Just saw this on the foreignservicereality website... Talk about cube living. If you are in the upper cube, how do you get to your front door?

Yeah cathay at both sections, so this means I dont have to check in again and get a boarding pass? I printed 3 copies of our eticket just in case.. Thanks!

Yes you should get it all in manila and your bags will be checked through to Toronto. I have flown Cebu-HK-Tor.. and that is what happened. You get off the plane and find the gate you are departing at.

If you are pressed for time, sometimes there will be cathay employees waiting with signs (either with your name or destination) when you get off the plane to take you to your connecting flight. So don't worry.

Yes,,,usually you get all your boarding passes at the first check-in,,,if you were going through Bejing or Shanghai I would be worried ,they are scary
