They asked him some skill testing questions. One lady in front of him was being grilled quite badly.
One of the questions was if he had previously applied for a visa and he said no a bunch of times and then he doesn't know. The IO was mad and said next time he has to tell him the answer nicely. Guess he forgot about the tourist visa. They asked about his kids, the name and age of the kids, his address in Canada, and phone number. They also asked him how he got his visa. So he had to say Conjugal. Then she stamped his passport and said next time answer the questions correctly. As he left, the other lady was still being grilled by a male IO who was pretty mad apparently.

Moose was so shaken up that he ended up taking the wrong exit out of security and I missed him at the international arrivals gate where I was waiting for a long time with one lonely balloon.. he was already outside and comfortable on a bench in the sun. What a space cadet :P He's here watching me type and says hi everybody :)

Thanks! So far, he's really happy here. Needs to brush up on his English and I wonder if he will get lonely for the company of other Filipinos soon. We plan to invite the whole family to a special feed on Fil independence day on Wednesday. He's a great cook and it was supposed to be a party just for immediate family but since they heard about the food some aunts and uncles have already secured an invite :P :P :P

Questions about the visa. Did you guys apply for a visitor visa and then got denied? Just asking because my wife applied for one last summer and was denied. I will have to make sure she remembers to tell them if they ask

Hi guyz hope everyone is doing fine. My husband and me landed few days ago. Everything went well but something really wrong happenned and i wanted to share with you guyz. Today i went to service Canada to apply my husband social insurance card but we couldnt do it because the landing officer gave us a photocopy of the copr not original also theres a stamp ''true copy stamp'' where the officer was supposed to sign but he didnt!probably forgot it.i am so shocked. Unfortunately we didnt check the copr when it was give to us until now(today). so service canada couldnt accept his copr!! anyways we went through many calls once we have been told that we would have to have an appointment wand get this done in the aiport...then a lady called from border agency she told us that we can just mail to them the copr so the officer can sign and send us back by mail.anyways i am very pissed and shocked that this happenned. anyways all i wanted to say is check your passport stamp and copr and signatures when is given to you by the officer so you dont have to go through this

Saw the above on the singapore timeline. Thought it would be important for those landing soon. Especially since people will be very excited and it will be easy to overlook .

Why do they need to be like that? The decision to approve or deny the visa is not theirs. They are just there to record the entry and make sure no one is smuggling in any contraband. Maybe I should fly to Vancouver?

.....and thanks everybody for the birthday wishes.
