I was told to travel with my marriage certificate as they would waive some fees if you stayed over the 21 days without a visa. I would gladly pay the 10000Php for the hassle free entry and exit. Though you can just apply to become a dual citizen which would solve that problem as well.
I would do so "gladly" too, but it's 10,000 USD, for me it's 20,000 USD (your entree may vary). I read the rule the same as Steph C, you must 'enter' with your pinoy spouse and can then stay for one year - por pree ! ! :)

I thought he wrote 10000php not US dollars. I tried to access the Bureau of Immigration website but it won't load for some reason.
This won't really become an issue until we are ready to retire there.

Good for you for wanting to retire there. I don't think I could handle it. Lucky for us the discussion won't come up for about 30 years ::) I imagine the population will probably be double by then ???

All depends on what you plan to do and which part you want to live in. We will be purchasing property there for rental units to help suppliment our retirement income. Twelve more years and we make the move.
I love the country. I'm a simple guy and don't need much.

Hey folks, got some movement however "slim". Applicant's ECAS login has been updated to "In Process". I'll post a duplicate on the May and onward thread (once I find what page it's on). WOO-HOO!

Congrats , that's big news!

Hey guys! I'd like your inputs please.

I am extremely worried coz my medical expires on the 19th of December. I am a Feb. applicant and Canada address of my hubby appeared last Oct. 31. No DM or visa until now. We already asked help from MP but of course reply was "every application is treated evenly and accordingly..your application is still within normal processing time." Good news is we learned from him there is no problem with our application.
We emailed CEM specific case enquiry but nadah..no reply!

What must i do? :(

Please continue to be patient. You have already done ALL you can do. I understand that if you're close they may extend your medical. Others may post their experience concerning that.

Thanks Steph and AnaMaria. At least we now know that they HAVE it . . . "for sure". Until now I had only assumed ours went in the same diplomatic pouch as AnaMaria's (who at one point got confirmation that their's was there).

Why do you bother your MP or CEM for your application status? Simply pay $5 and request emailed copy of GCMS notes. This will give you the most up-to-date information. Any other form of inquiry can potentially slow things down.
