10 grand?! Nevermind, I prefer the "NON QUOTA IMMIGRANT BY MARRIAGE" option . . .

Well at least they're honest about it, unlike Canada.. Money = Immigration

Do you know who is maintaining the May and onward Manila doc? It's more current than the global May spreadsheet, at least from Manila's standpoint. Got another PPR today . . .

I saw the non-quota immigrant thing but it needed to be renewed every year. But after checking further it looks even better in the long run. Every year you would need to renew it but on the 4th renewal you can get permanent residence. The pay one eliminates the renewal stuff though.

It will be a while before I do any of that though. Still trying to get my wife here. We can figure out how to get me there MUCH later...

Sundie134 started the spreadsheet. Although anyone can edit it.

I did not know that anyone can edit. Sundie is July applicant/sponsor, but seems she is quite up to date for before and after her application.

Yes anyone can edit.....I corrected the Days calculations.

It's great to have this sheet, as other global sheets do not have the data up to date.....of course this is directly due to the Filipino language threads.

Cheers!

Cool.. this is going to be interesting to watch. The people in May that were skipped over is what interests me the most.. some at the end of May have visas already, but no PPR's into June yet. I really hope they finish with April/May applicants first, though it's hard to tell if they are going by Sponsor approval date or not.

Well, AnaMaria has reminded me many times that they are "visa-exempt" so I'll assume 'godsgiftlove' might be as well. Aside from that, they seem to be going in order by CIC-Mississauga "received date". And yet I find myself at times (selfishly) wishing that we will be next . . . who am I foolin'?

As for the 10 grand . . . for me it will be TWENTY GRAND, so when appropriate I'll be going the "non-quota" route. 'scos', where did you find the deeper info about what you mentioned - "upon 4th renewal they give you perm res" ?? I've been all up and down the pinoy immigration site (simply for interests sakes at this point).

I think AnaMaria is from Japan and they are visa-exempt so she will just wait for her COPR. While godsgiftlove is from philippines and she is lucky to have a fast sponsor approval during their batch and the whole processing as well. (as we can see)

Truesmile should receive her/his PPR soon if they go with the sponsor approval date.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Think that's what got us in trouble estimating timelines, gauging our projected PPR based on others SA to PPR a month or two ahead of us. Indeed, our SA was quick at 60 days.

Ok so here's my first question! Has anybody ever gone to the CDN Embassy in Manila to inquire about their application? I heard they will take inquiries from Canadians and I was wondering if it would help at all if I went there to inquire since I am in the Phils at the moment.

This may be old news now as I havew posted my experience in the May 2012 sponsorship thread.

Inquiries in person are no longer permitted in the Manila embassy. Consular services only. This is new this last year. The Conservative government contimues to hack and slash jobs in government services and the foreign offices are not immune. So as a Canadian citizen you will be denied entry to your own embassy even if you need to ask a general question.
Sorry if this comes too late.

As for extended stays... If you find yourself wanting to have unrestricted entry and exit there is a way you can accomplish it. If you check out their immigration pages you will find a special visa for spouses of citizens. If you are willing to give then $10000.00 for "investment" in the Phils, they will give you an unlimited VISA. Think of it as similar to the over $180000.00 "investment" CIC was requiring of Chinese immigrants back in the 90's. I don't know if you get a choice of how it is invested or if it is a government run fund. My wife and I have discussed retiring there in 30 years or so and at that time I would definitely consider it.

I was told to travel with my marriage certificate as they would waive some fees if you stayed over the 21 days without a visa. I would gladly pay the 10000Php for the hassle free entry and exit. Though you can just apply to become a dual citizen which would solve that problem as well.

I thought you had to enter the country with your wife for those special permissions to be granted?
Thanks for sharing what the Embassy is doing now.. glad we didn't waste a trip there.

Ya it was a wasted trip. We drove in from Antipolo and you know what traffic is like. At least we made the best of the trip in had a nice breakfast and did some shopping.
