They are away from friends and family. They miss birthdays and such. The air quality in Manila is toxic. I love the Philippines but I would never live in Manila. You cannot own your own home. It sounds far more glamourous than it is. If I was a young single guy I would love it but those folks with spouses who can't work and kids that may not have access to all the priviledges that they would have in Canada. Never mind the postings in wartorn or politically uncertain countries.

True, but the cost of living difference is far more than the $10,000 less they are earning. So there is already allowance in there for being abroad.

holy sh?t with the prices of cigarettes and alcohol i would save 10,000 a year, and im sure they get free medical, if you were to earn 20,000 a year in manila iyou are in the upper class, they chose to go

my Bebot is qwapo he is 6 and has so many gf, and so smart, i couldnt of imagined reading when i was 6 , he can type on the computer and read everything, hes got all the best genes, WE WERE IN MANILA ROBINSONS MALL AND THERE WAS PEOPLE WHO WANTED HIM FOR ADVERTISEMENT FOR GERBERS BABY FOODS, HE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD, HE LOOKED 2 YEARS OLD THEN, I HONESTLY WAS SCARED SOMEONE WOULD TAKE HIM TO SELL HIM OFF WHILE HE WAS STILL IN PHILS

Not exactly because if they want to return to Canada for any family event or holiday they spend that money on airfare. So they are at a disadvantage and are paid less. Visa offices in London where the cost of living is much higher?

Often foreign appointments include either discounted travel or a certain number of paid visits. I am sure there is some arrangement like that for them as well.
