CIC called to confirm address to return passport with VISA. Passport and Appendix A will be couriered to Embassy. My wife lives in Mindinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Hi, I'd like to put our stats up but don't know what is what or where to put them.
Med done upfront in November but I can't find the exact date right now.
Application sent from Japan Dec 10th
Payment of Fees Dec 9th
The online information says file received Dec 24th
Sponsor Approval Jan 31st

Also, I noticed that most people seem to be applying from Manila. Is there anyone from Japan on here? I just wonder, if my husband is Visa exempt then what will be the first thing we hear? An "in progress" on the site or will we just, one day, receive the visa in the mail since they won't request his passport. And if our application is incomplete in any way, would we have know by now or will we not know until the application is in progress.

Thanks so much for all your information. It would be nice if the Canadian Government made the process a little more transparent.

you will have to post for sometime to be able to show ur stats

if u want to know the progress of ur apllication,its better to contact ur local mp or check ur ecas,it will give u a general overview even if not acurate u will have an idea,all the best,keep in mind that cic do not send visa through mail,ur pasport will definately be request wen approved

Sorry, no local mp here! We still live in Japan. I've been a PR here for more than 10 years and I don't even maintain an address in Canada. And I'm sorry, but I don't know what ecas is. If it's the website, nothing has changed since they received the application so no new news there. And from what Step told me, since Japan is Visa exempt, we won't need to send in my husband's passport. Really good thing too because he will either be on holidays in Canada or in India on business. That was what I was worried about.

Well my friend the day has finally come, wife got a call from CEM.
Passport and Appendix A to be sent to Embassy for VISA issuance.
VISA Validity July 13,2014.( date meds expire)

Congrats Step, that is great news. Now soon you and your wife will be together. As for me and my wife our PPR was April 28th and still not a thing has been heard from them, our meds expire on the 4th of July.

To be able to post your status on your profile you have to reach 10 posts. As far as the passport goes, have seen many Japanese go through process, passport not required.( At the most CIC may require photocopy)
Search GCMS Notes on forum, you can order them for 5 bucks takes 30 days to receive notes back. Just a word of warning, I ordered my notes April 24( 8 month mark of waiting) Notes told me very little because my application went into process later.Notes are generated on the day you request them but don't arrive for a month.It's a way to find out about your app if you have no other way. Example: MP.

Search that on forum, ask to join and someone will add you to the spreadsheet.

Thanks Step, and did I see congratulations are in order?? We're only 5 months in so I'm not quiet ready to get notes etc yet. Just chomping at the bit to get back to Canada. I shouldn't complain as my family is with me now and we don't have to face separation at all! Although with three kids 8, 11 and 13 (and big attitudes) a break might be nice

Again, it's just figuring out the timing of all this. My husband has a job waiting for him in Canada and darn it, if we're going to make this big move, I want to get on with it.

Heh Step...thats GREAT news!!! Just popping in to see whats going on...hope the remaining wait is SHORT!! And Mrs Step will have some time to acclimatize...slowly when Fall arrives here...Mrs JGM and me too for that matter still haven't thawed out from the cold Spring here..Mrs JGM found a job related to her background but cant work work as "licenced" until she completes a Bridging program to bring her up to Canadian standards. With diligence and some driving dropping off CV's the first few weeks..she scored a job about five weeks after Landing...all is well here..
