Hello Everyone,

I am a longtime visitor, first posting. I need some advice on the status of my wife's application, here are the facts:

· 2-10-12 Application Received
· 5-19-12 Request For Additional information – Submitted
· 9-10-12 PXXX BXXXXXXX approved as Sponsor
· 9-18-12 Application received at Manila Embassy
· 3-11-13 Request for additional information including Passport submission
· 3-22-13 Right of Permanent residence(RPRF) fee paid RXXXXXXXXXXX
· 5-15-13 Additional information requested – Proof of genuine relationship – submitted
· 6-27-13 Request for RPRF again
· 6-27-13 Re-submit RPRF receipt RXXXXXXXX again
· 6-28-13 Request for Medical
· 7-17-13 Medical results submitted to Canadian Embassy – Manila

On 8-12-13 we requested that my wife's passport be returned so she could return to live with me in China.

Current status on the CIC website in Application received, in the comments, it is medical received.
I am a Canadian citizen, my wife has an existing work visa for Canada. We do not currently live in Canada. We lived together in Edmonton for a year and then I took a job in China, so we could be guaranteed to live together because of the uncertainty around work visa renewal. Her current work visa is valid for another year. We are currently living together in China. We are going to Canada at Christmas to visit family. My question is, will we need a visitor visa for my wife to visit? What's the probability of her receiving her PRV before December? Can she enter using her valid work visa, even though she doesn't intend to work?

Any advice or opinion will be appreciated, Thanks.
I just wanted to bump this post for this fellow, sorry we are super chatty around here, does anybody have any advice?

From what I see, you are just awaiting CEM to accept your wife's medical and issue the visa.. but you requested the passport back. Normally I would say contact your MP and get him or her to give you an update on where you are at with the visa. It should be time for them to issue it. If you have a month to wait you could order your GCMS notes online. Again, you are meant to be in Canada to order those notes, but they are electronic and sent via email. The GCMS notes will tell you what is going on with your case.

Have you tried emailing CEM with a case specific inquiry?

Just so you know, they won't issue a PRV to a couple that doesn't intend to live in Canada. If you guys are now going to China because you found work there I would not tell them that. You were meant to apply for the PRV with the intent to move back to Canada. Once she gets the visa she will have to land in Canada within the specified time frame (a year since her last medical). However since she will be living abroad with you (a Citizen I assume?) she will not lose her PR.

Yeah I saw this post but was unsure of a couple of things...

He mentioned that they requested the passport back and then later said "We are currently living together in China." Which would seem that they got passport back and are now living in china...

Yah generally silence just means.. I don't know!

So if they got the passport back does that mean the application process is cancelled?

Not sure... If I were them I would be contacting CEM or the MP.

Hey everyone,

My wife is in Canada with me on a study visa already. When she receives the COPR, how do we land? We are living in Toronto and are planning to go to Buffalo and come back through that way. But I remember reading somewhere that you need to be at the office at 7am or around that time to meet with a Boarder Agent to process the final documents. Is this correct?

Any tips?

You can go and "flag-pole" anytime, not only at 7 am.
