They may be letting the medicals slide because processing now takes well over a year.
I don't think that will ever happen,,,,i think a new system of having medicals done just like PPR are requested at a certain time during the process,,,as it stands now most people are going to require remeds unless they step over the older group of applicants and send out visa for the newer applicants,,,,,,,last come first served

How long does manila usually take to issue visa once you get your passport request? I have read on this forum that it is usually 1.5 to 2 months. Does that still hold true?

It was before... But with the strike nobody know how long it would take now

Ok, thanks. Seems like the strike is not really affecting things if people are getting ppr's?

Well strike of pafso members affects issueing of visa .. Embassy can hire locals to do their simple jobs like compiling or sorting or preparing their stuffs .. In short they can hire handful of filipino employee to process the requirements of the application such as medical/passport and other papers.. But strictly they only grant authority to canadians which most are pafso members to issue visa / review cases.. Its a matter of national security.... Not really sure with this but i think thats how it works on the embassy ..

Sorry I meant let them slide to be include in the initial application process not altogether. There is no need for the medical until the application goes in process and is actually being reviewed.

Hi there! I think you are looking for me. Just to lighten up, this is the actual replied that my got husband after a week that he sent an email at CEM.

Dear Sponsor,

This refers to your sponsorship application for your spouse as member of the family class.

Please be informed that we are yet to initiate eligibility review on your wife's application.

Due to our recent limited resources we cannot reply to in all your inquiries. A request for medical extension is now in place with our medical section.

Yours sincerely,

My wife got her medical extended though all that really means is that she didn't have to redo the entire medical exam....just the chest x-ray and the interview with the panel physician. VO's cannot make the decision to extend medicals themselves.

Closing is on three months of CEM holding on to my wifes passport, yes the strike is slowing things down.

yes but what else was there besides the urine sample and blood tests,,,,,,,its the delay factor that means everything,,,,im feeling it now,,,if my wife didn't need the remed she would of been here,,,but now we are caught up in this fooking stike,,,,no where to turn,,,,they all have and easy out,,,THE STRIKE

I think they actually want the delay factors in each application,,,there is no such thing as first come first served,,,,THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS A FARCE,,,,THINK ABOUT IT,,,APPROX 99.9% ARE GRANTED VISAS,,,,WHY NOT LET THEM COME AFTER THE APPLICATION IS FILED,,,,THEY CAN ALWAYS SEND THEM BACK
