REALLY?! I also agree. I think the whole "let's give an immediate TRV not to ALL applicants no . . . just the ones that are questionable and taking a bit longer to process" is the one that lacks common sense.

hahaha....I won't waist trying to explain....it's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Manila doesn't seem very busy processing spousal visas this year. Maybe they're all making room for the Seoul documents. I checked the spreadsheet and this week 2 people got visas so far, looks like Mcire from July just got theirs, as well as Apple89 from May. Congrats to them!

I'm expecting to see more July applicants getting processed now. I don't know what so magical about May that applications stop dead in their tracks

It must have been the moving of all the files to Ottawa. My Sponsor approval came from Ottawa. I read the article online about how Ottawa lost thousands of PR applications from workers.. At least they 'kind of' prioritized us there. I think all the time of how much school work I sacrificed to get the application done in time - work missed that could have cost me valuable internships. If I had slacked on the application and got it done when school was finished we might have had better timing.

As with most thing in life it is all in the timing. I was looking through old posts from over a year ago and watching people get sponsorship in a month and their PR's in 5 to 6 months. When I was in Antipolo I met some friends of my sister-in-law who had immigrated here 3 years ago. It took 3 months.
If the process is still the same and the numbers of applications are still the same why the discrepency? This is what bothers me.

Because they laid off employees and closed many visa offices. Same amount of applications, less people to process them, more confusion in the visa offices who are consolidating the other applications.

I think they started redirecting applications from Seoul months ago. The move to close offices in Asia is confusing since thats where the bulk of our immigration comes from.

ECAS has been on the fritz as well the last few days. Does not recognize my UIC or file #. So now way to see if anything has changed. I bet they have erased everything.

Not sure what to make of that. Last week for about 5 days it would not load the secure ECAS page with your info on it. Something about invalid security certificates. I thought they might have been hacked.

I remember that.. but if I loaded the page from the website and not from my bookmarks it was fine.

Show off....

I think it has more to do with their software protocols.

It has nothing to do with what kind of computer you're using, or security certificates, or software protocols.

This is an internal glitch in the whole eCAS system that's been confirmed by CIC. They said they're aware of the problem, and they're working on fixing it and, no, they don't know when it will be fixed.

Some people are affected, while others are not. No need for anyone to freak out or to start conspiracy theories. It's just a technical glitch, although it appears to be a rather big one because it's going on day 5 or 6 now.
