Just got off the phone with CIC.

ECAS is down as they are upgrading some applications which didn't go as planned. It has not affected all users but certainly a lot of accounts will still be unavailable for the next 48 hours.

You mean they were upgrading certain people's PR applications, or application as a computer jargon word? I wonder why it affects some and not others.

Their 'ambiguity' was intentional!

Well not to panic, but I'm starting to worry since my ecas works fine :P lol

Oh yes, bcoz they weren't attempting to update "your" record, yours is working fine.

They were upgrading the software application. I asked the same question she didn't know why it didn't affect every account.

I also asked if the changes to the processing times will affect current applications and she said yes. So that is really bad news.

You applied in late August or September - it's not yet time to get anxious! Many of us applied in April or May and are still waiting for PPR. You got pretty lucky with your sponsorship approval being fast.. but fast sponsorship approval means you have to wait longer for a PPR behind those whose sponsorship approval took 3 or 4 months. Hope you get lucky and don't have to wait as long.

If everything was fine with your medical report, there's not much chance that you'll be asked to do a new one. They often extend them for the duration of the application process.

Take a deep breath, and relax. Your police clearance certificate will be just fine for the remainder of your application process. The key is to make sure it's not more than 3 months old when you SUBMIT the application.

No kids coming to Canada. We're pretty well within normal processing times at this point. Take a look at the spreadsheet.

Uhhhh actually no Steph C. Tuyeniee is one of the most informative, factual and intelligent persons you'll ever meet on this forum. There isn't any sugar coating to give false hope and will advise accordingly. If you're smart, you'll trust his judgment. He has vast experience in this area of practice.

But even better, don't you just love his sense of humor? He has me falling off my stool everytime!!!

Enjoy every bit of him and make him feel welcomed here. K?

Oh you know...into the void.

Along with a bunch of others from earlier in the day. And they were CLASSICS, I assure you.

But you don't have to take my word for it - I'll show you the whole thing which I saved, knowing full well what will happen, because free speech is a completely foreign concept to those who have moderator "powers". ::)
