I don't know if I agree with your in-process theory Steph. It is possible they wait until all the items are onhand then switch it to in-process. It seems a lot of things often take only a day, so it would look like the in-process came after when it may actually have come first. I still think the jury is out on it. As for the re-med, we were asked for one and are still in Application Received status.
CJG: I checked the Appendix A and it is the country-specific checklist of documents. We weren't asked for one and I know I included it in our app along with the main checklist. Is it possible you only included the main checklist and not this one as well? The tricky part is do they want just the checklist or all the documents that the checklist refers to (which is all the hassle-to-get stuff like NSO Marriage Certificate, AOM, etc). Since they lost parts of your app, who knows? I think you might be right in waiting to see the CGMS notes to see what is missing.
And my wife went to IOM cause I told her there was no appointment needed and it wasn't crowded. So she went and they asked for her appointment. So she went to St. Lukes instead (she is #41 in line and they were at #24 when she told me, mainly because she got their late because of the detour). So if you are planning to go to IOM you DO need an appointment.
