The other consideration was that they said incomplete applications would be returned. But it looks like they process incomplete ones all the time. It looks like as long as the sponsor side and the forms for stage 2 are complete it will move to stage 2. But think of all the posts on here asking for AOM, passport photocopies, medicals, marriage certs, etc. The actual applicant supporting documents don't seem to be checked until the app is opened in Manila.

Just called CIC to see if they can confirm my payment for the RPRF. I had faxed it to them on the 16th of April though the email I received from Manila April 30th stated that it was not yet entered. May 1st I replied to that email and lo' and behold today it is recorded as paid.

Too many coincidences to not come to the conclusion that you get nowhere without pushing them to action. Especially if you are a citizen. I should have started my campaign after Xmas
Exactly.. that's why I'm getting my MP on board right now. I'm hoping he will give them that last incentive to see the medical exam in the system and issue a visa.

Maybe part of a cost-cutting measure was reducing supervisors and so now it is a DIY type deal. :D

I was thinking about what they will likely do next to CEM. Anyone else think that Singapore is a likely next target for absorption later in the year after Seoul is completely digested? I just get a sneaky suspicion that the plan is to have a regional center in Manila to save money. That would mean accepting the higher processing times as the various parts are gobbled up and eventually economies of scale kick in.

I would agree that under this government their "ACTION PLAN" is to reduce government service wherever they can. They are now trying to pass a Bill that would allow them access to the negotiations at the collective agreements of all Crown Corporations. Completely illegal but they will pass it into law regardless. Never thought this could happen in Canada.

Well, never fear. I saw an interesting commercial the other day. Looks like old re-runs of the Beachcombers are coming back. Bruno Gerussi will save Canadian culture! :P

Speaking of Canadian culture, I wandered across a university website that had lists of old Canadian television shows going back to the 50's (I think it may have been Queens University). It is amazing how dumbed-down todays television is when you compare it with what was on back then.

Come to think of it, it may have been a CBC archive I was looking at...

LOL.

I'm not a fan of the CBC. The only thing I watch is hockey but they are a necessity.

Beachcombers and Hockey! That was my childhood :D I'm glad Hockey is pretty much done.. the short season was just the right length for me ;D I didn't get to see a game this year, I was waiting for my guy to come.. I was waiting to take him to Vancouver and watch a live game :D That's been one of my dreams.. not sure if he will like hockey but hopefully he will at least enjoy the fights 8)

The only thing I watch at all on tv anymore is NASCAR, but kudo's to CBC for "Canada - A Peoples History" that was good. They also did a documentary of WW 1 Canada and the Great War or something or another it is called (two part series) also very very well done.

Years ago I think it was the CBC that did a piece on how WW1 affected Newfoundland. I didn't realize the problems they went through. They lost a large part of their male population which the demographics to this day haven't fully recovered from. They went into so much debt they had to return to being a colony of England for a time. They gave a lot to support England in that war.

We get inundated with US television so much I sometimes feel I know more about the US than Canada. CBC and the National Film Board help to balance that. There is my public service announcement of the day. :D

On a side note: Any Vinyl Café fans out there?
