How long did it take to get the IMM1017? The PPR said it will come in a "future email". Maybe they are just having problems getting up to 88 mph...

Or is that reference too 80's?

Hey Guys! Just wanted to check if we need to submit the IMM 1017 together with the application package or is CIC going to send me a notification when to go to the clinic?

I'm the person being sponsored, in Singapore. Recently married a fellow Filipino who lives in Canada.

I called the accredited clinic and it turns out, they need the form with "barcodes" according to the assistant.

I also searched high and low for IMM 1017 online and can't find one that has a CIC logo of some sort.

So sorry if this is a bit off-topic. I havent done this before and neither has my husband...We're kind of at the end of our wits and would appreciate any useful info from any one...

Thanks a lot and have a great day/evening

The whole meds process is kind of messed up right now. There used to be an Appendix C in the application you could fill out to give to the medical practitioner. Then they "went digital" and removed appendix C and created IMM1017. But no one seems to know where to get it. When I called CIC to ask where to get it to do a re-med I was told we had to wait till it was sent to us. Where this leaves new applicants like yourself I don't know. I have read that some people still fill out the Appendix C and use that. Someone posted a link where it was available. But it has no bar codes on it.

Check in the April forum, they are all new applicants. They must know. I know of at least one person who didn't submit a medical with the application. But that may cause a delay later.

They are supposed to supply the form these days.. by they I mean the doctors office is supposed to have them. You might want to ask them again.

The seminar on Tuesday was rough. There were about 15 applicants and 12 got through relatively unscathed at 1PM after 5 hours. Three applicants including my partner were held for additional "processing", which really turned out to be a blend of interrogation and gossip session with many irrelevant questions, eg. "How much was your tuition?" and "At what age did you discover you were gay?"

He thought it strange that he had to endure a grilling from them considering that the embassy approved his application after just 5 days of processing. Anyway by 3PM he took possession of the coveted sticker.
Congrats!

When they fail to process your application before the meds expire you are automatically delayed anyway. If I could go back and do it all over I would have sent the medical after the application was transferred to Manila.

There's enough people who send in their medicals after their application just because they didn't know any better. It worked out okay for them. They will be requested right away once they open your file but I don't think it delays anything at all.

But I guess we don't know what is better - a soon expiring medical that will get you a quicker visa? Or a medical that lasts longer so you don't have to re-med.

Hindsight being 20/20 I would opt for the devil I know over the one I don't. I would have saved myself the money and the hassle for my wife to go and redo her medical. Unfortunately I think we all believed that applications are opened once they reach Manila. At least that is what I believed.

Well that is what I would of believed as well, once you had the SA, I would of thought it was pretty much just a matter of them checking forms and facts, with some sort of efficiency. Sadly that has proven not to be the case.

Just called CIC to see if they can confirm my payment for the RPRF. I had faxed it to them on the 16th of April though the email I received from Manila April 30th stated that it was not yet entered. May 1st I replied to that email and lo' and behold today it is recorded as paid.

Too many coincidences to not come to the conclusion that you get nowhere without pushing them to action. Especially if you are a citizen. I should have started my campaign after Xmas
