Hello All,

Visitor Visa taking now 13 months.
is it possible to apply for Mandamus application ? How long will take and what is the cost of this application? Is it worth it to do this for visitor visa ?
And what about apply visitor visa again outside of Canada ?

Where are you applying from? You can file but fees will depend on law fees. Contact a lawyer and ask.

Mandamus would make sense once your application has significantly exceed the posted processing times.

The order processing time was 3 months when I applied for Visitor Visa. 10 months delay is a good reason to apply for this method?

Depends on lawyer fees but you would have consultation, filings and proceedings so between $5-10k…maybe more. Also factor in that Iran has the highest asylum claims.

Really depends on your profile and reason for travel even if you have 5-10k that may not lead to an approved TRV. Why do you want to visit Canada? Do you have any ties to Canada? What are your ties to Iran? Any ties to government? Where have you traveled internationally and when? Are you applying with other family members?

Generally it's the current processing times you need to look at. Not historical processing times. Processing times are not locked in at the time you apply. I would recommend speaking with an immigration lawyer and getting a consult. Good luck.

Again depends on your profile. If there are red flags in your application you would just start wait process again and pay another application fee.

99% of the time they will find out that you have another ongoing application under screening. They will then cancel your new application without refund, or put you under security screening again.
