Hey gsize!!!!

My hubby and I are together and very happy! :D

I wonder who else is still around....
Just going through the process, now almost there...

I am still here. SA on 7/17. Finally, since i sent the darn thing in January. Two signatures and lost paperwork ( not my fault)later. Hopefully, after they get my CSQ (very soon, I hope ::) :o ) they'll move on my file and get it done. I'd like to land by Christmas but that's asking a lot. The email I got requesting my CSQ stated that if they don't receive my CSQ by 11/9 they'll make a decision on my file either way and it was signed by an actual officer. Hopefully, it means what it sounds like. It would be the best Christmas present ever. There, everyone is updated. :P ;)

If you guys are up for it, we could organize something one day when everybody's got their hubbies/wives with them and are all settled nicely. I'd be willing to go out to the west coast cause I've never been to that part of the country, and always wanted to go helicopter skiing in Banff. Or, if you guys would like to see Toronto, I could fly you all out here and we'll make a week-long thing out of it with all kinds of potential for fun stuff.

ive always dreamed with visiting toronto :)

I'd suggest bringing up the idea of you moving to their country. If they run screaming then you know they were only after a visa. If they have logical reasons why not or are willing to discuss it then that would be a good sign. And then you can always go back to "Yes, you moving here is the best plan" without risking the problems of them knowing they'd been "tested".

The topic is very interesting,,,I think there are 3 sides to each story,,what she says,,what he says and the truth,,Ive met canadian women who have married cuban citizens after having met them only once(and the cuban spouses didnt even speak the language!!!) so,there is a lottttttt more of what we see in the news ...im talking on behalf of the cuban citizens since Im cuban myself,,,

Hi peeps :) It's been awhile! I was recently fondly remembering this place and how it got me through the low times and the high times!

Oh I missed this place!

Hubby will be applying for citizenship in March, and I had a question that I posted about it a few days ago and saw THIS TOPIC under new replies to my posts and had to pop in!! <3

Wow, has it been that long? You did notice they announced a fee increase as of today (January 1, 2015). I just checked, the new fees are reflected on the website.

I wonder how that will affect our application. It was delivered to CIC Mississauga for Outland processing on Dec. 31st, and the receipt from my online payment was made a week before.

As long as it was received by 31 December, you should be fine.

When I went to send in my application (on 30 December) I found out that FedEx "next day" service to Sydney, NS is two days. Ugh. So that cost me an extra $230. I'm already preparing for my RQ (which I will get - I travel way too much for work). The list of documents they usually request looks like it will run into more than 5,000 pages for me. An entire case of paper. Not to mention the ink. I actually wonder if the CIC officer really will want to see all that paper...

It is! But also stressful! I really dislike immigration lol. Tony needs to go to Toronto to take a test that proves he knows English....REALLY?! He's from Nashville, TN! Believe me he knows English! haha

Sheesh parker, that's nuts. I'm almost done with this odyssey.. I've got my visa finally and hopefully I'll land tomorrow or Monday.
