Re: Love or Opportunity?

Hi BuleAngel. Can you provide some more detail? Did the sponsorship go through first and then find out you were being used? If so, did you see any signs before hand? What happened?

Re: Love or Opportunity?

Good news, it was before I've met my sponsor. Sorry to confuse. My sponsor is the loive of my life. He's going to pay all my fees ( not by my request either) and he is going with me to my interview. I am one lucky lady. My last realtionship was an abusive one.
We both can't wait until he brings me home. He says he go through anything to bring me home to him.
But I do thank you all for your cautionary tales. I was very wary but I've got a good one this time.

I've never been through one but appreciate learning from other peoples experience. However I can picture how emotionally draining it would be.

if someone uses you for visa. then what? its an inevitable fact that he will love you more. because you made his life.

Damn...is THAT how it works? All this time...I was so naive and stupid to think that a man will quickly leave and divorce a woman after having used her for a visa. But no...I can totally see the validity of your argument.

Used = reason to love her more. It all makes sense now. The light shining forth from your brilliance must surely be the result of god himself speaking through you. Let no one in this forum ever dare to say that they were not in the presence of a miracle while it was unfolding before their very eyes.

whats harm if you sponsor him and make his life? is he not a human? even if he has used you or using as a gateway to canada or USA. thats the only option he has.

You're a rather glorious and special person. Did anyone ever tell you that?

Canada would be lucky to have you for a multitude of reasons - if not for your intellectual prowess, then certainly for your integrity, or for your respect for the laws of Canada as they pertain to its immigration procedures, or for your seemingly-endless desire to help your fellow human being, even at the cost of using another.

I, for one, consider myself to be a better Canadian after having shared this thread with you.

lol this makes me laugh (the way you ironically answered) and at the same time mad what visahunter says here, even though i didnt read his/her post. If really a person needs help to get away of a miserable life in their country and wants to come to canada to make a better living, its NEVER ok to lie to someone or use that person! Then at least be honest and maybe there is really someone that wants to help you out, but dont play a game and lie in loving that person, its just aweful. Besides that, you never have a guarantee that things in an other country work out better for you. Cant believe a person is even thinking the way visahuter does.....

I was sponsored by my husband and the only reason i came here to live for is for him and i have a great husband. For him im willing to start all new and i dont know what i still have to face here. Coming here alone just to live here, i wouldnt have had enough motivation or reason, even if i would look for a better life somewhere else, i would never be able to use anyone or play the role of a loving partner just for that, just goes totally against me and i would have tried to find another way without going against the law or playing with peoples emotions. I know there is people that have hard lifes where they live, especially if theres a war going on, i know theres tough situations where you would do anything to get out of it, still....playing with peoples emotions doesnt make you a good person, at least be honest with all, maybe you fall in love for real then and then you have even 2 reasons for coming to Canada.
