You are such a nice person. I don't think I could see those forms again...pukeparker24 said:Yaaay! Excited for you mrs lunas!
I found out my cousin is marrying an immigrant as well and will sponsor him. She asked for my help and would like for me to go through the paperwork with her and my future cousin-in-law (is that a title?) sometime soon. I don't know much about Lebanon though, may have to do some research. And here I thought I was sorta done with CIC

We will be crossing into Canada (FINALLY!!) tomorrow! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and they don't make us un-pack anything because I don't think I could re-pack the roofbag!

I might just put my stuff on Kijiji to get rid of some things when I get there :
If I make it there! I felt like an idiot. I felt like a deer in t headlight when I got into the truck today. I didn't I where everything was. Come on...it's not a plane! I had to ask the uhaul guy to help me in two occasions. Seriously, I don't know how I got the truck home but driving for hours will make me cry.amikety said:Advertise is as "Duty Free"
haha!! Well we are here and made it safe and sound! The landing process was a bit of a bumpy situation! So when my husband went to get the papers for him to export the car from the US they started to question him loads and give him a hard time about wanting to move from "the great and wonderful USA" well he was trying to be honest with them and long story short they pretty much dragged me and the three kids in(while there was an insane rainstorm going on) and saying that they were going to handle this as if I was doing a self-deportation (I have been in the US for 6 years without papers) and I'm banned for 10 years... Yeah not how we thought it would go to say the least!! I had been told that I was in a loophole due to the fact that I never had filed papers in the US and that I hadn't needed a visa to get there in the first place. Well after a few tears and silently cursing the US (it pretty much felt like a final middle finger to us and just another piece of proof that leaving there was the best choice!) we made it to the Canadian side of the border and went in to land. The officer was mostly quite and just did what had to get done and didn't seem to thrilled with having to do a landing but by the end she seemed to warm up to us all. All and all it took over 2 hrs from the time we made it to the border till we got the all clear. A lot longer then we thought it would but it's done now so we can just move forward from here! Now to get all the paperwork done here! haha... it never ends.... ???amikety said:Yay! We've been thinking about you. OH MY WORD. I've noticed when doing anything to do with Americans' moving to Canada, they are effing arrogant, ignorant pr**ks! I'm so sorry you went through all of this! Glad to know you survived and are doing well! Congrats! WELCOME TO CANADA!! <3mameelynn said:haha!! Well we are here and made it safe and sound! The landing process was a bit of a bumpy situation! Totally reminded me of my sister. She got a rental car and the guy was giving her a once over on all the "fancy" new car buttons..... She looked down and saw a knob/switch by the gearshift, not thinking she grabbed it and was pulling it up, she looked over as she asked,"what does this do?" As she turned to look at him, she realized that it was for the windshield washer, and she was spraying the guy in the face! It took her a few seconds to release the switch. She was like "Oh! I am so sorry! Who would have thought that was for the washer fluid?". LOLlunas said:If I make it there! I felt like an idiot. I felt like a deer in t headlight when I got into the truck today. Congratulations on landing and welcome to the best side of the border! Re the US self deportation, you can always get an inadmissibility waiver to be allowed to travel back to the US as a visitor. Just wait a couple of years and establish good ties here. And you have to pay a fee of course... as with everything government related! Enjoy Canada!mameelynn said:haha!!
