No idea, but I'm sure it's cheaper than diapers. I think the IUD is only effective price wise if you're waiting a few years for kids. And you have horrible reactions to that hormonal crap on the market.

Or in the case of the rare Mrs. P (that's me) you get a blood clot while on the pill :-\

Wasn't the doc, it's the pharmacies here. I went to all of them in my town, all of them said "400 dollars" My caseworker at the disability office asked if it was dipped in gold!!!

If you are in Ontario, your visit and the insertion procedure is covered by the province. You are only supposed to pay for the prescription. Like pharmaceuticals, there are different brands priced differently. The hormonal IUD costs more than the non hormonal. Family doctors may write prescriptions for the more expensive brands, but there are cheaper ones out there!

Oh nooo

You need to find a pharmacy that will sell you the Mirena for less than $400. That is the max!!

Be careful which one they give you. The Mirena is full of the same crap the Depoprovera shot has. That stuff should be ILLEGAL.

I was given that, I saw the commercial and freaked of course. Proceeded to call the doc and demand another appt for another different prescription! I've had enough complications with my health! :p

As far as I know the Mirena is the only hormone one available in Canada. I could be wrong. I completely wrote off researching hormonal IUDs because my body can't deal with them.

I'm completely lost. I have to do some research on birth control methods. I'm outdated and I'm surprised I didn't have an oops.

Stick with non-hormonal if you can. If you trick your body into thinking it's pregnant, you'll eat like you're pregnant!
