Oh, I certainly know what you mean! Our file sat in the the visa office for more than 6 months (I know this from the GCMS notes) and no movement whatsoever. In the mean time, certain group of applicants were being processed and their visas were being issued. It feels awkward to say the least- but there is always some factors we are unaware of in each office. In our case, for example, the issue was the closure of the Damascus office due to the situation in Syria, and the transfer of all those files to our visa office. Nevertheless, it feels awkward and even though I feel happy for every body who gets their visas, I just want ours to come as well.
I tried for some time to rationalize time lines and such, and finally I decided it's really bad for moral and sanity! So I avoid that at all costs, and try to distract myself from the visa thoughts. I know it'll come sooner or later. So all we can do is wait (I have to add this for me is sometimes easier said than done!)
Hang in there
