The only upside I see the ability to rate someone negative is to give scammers bad enough rap that people may be more wary of them - if they're aware of the rating system to begin with.

But as we know, most scammers swap IDs so frequently, it doesn't matter.

For most of them, it's because they hate (or fear) what I represent: common sense, telling it like it is, and not bowing to political correctness. And others simply fail to recognize my lovable nature.

Some people's lives are, in fact, so sad that they actually feel a sense of accomplishment when they repeatedly click on the minus sign beside someone's name.

I actually get a good laugh out of it, because every day when I see two or three new negatives, it makes me try and imagine how pathetic these people's personal lives must really be if they honestly think that clicking the minus sign beside my name in a web forum is in some way going to have even the slightest impact on my existence.
