Thank you!!!! I mailed in my passport today (just like you I sent it out the following day) so we will see how long it will take. The long is over for us so its just a short wait now (I hope!!) I am so happy for everyone that has gotten their PPR and am keeping my fingers crossed for those still waiting!Creampop said:Firstly Congrats!! Don't really think there is to much of a timeline yet, CG's took 16 days from his PPR to landing, yes I am obsessed with the days because I got my PPR on October 9th, sent it the 10th, so 16 days would be the 26th as nice as it would be I do expect it to be alittle longer just because I don't wanna get my hopes up! GL! and hope you don't have to much of a wait!
Congrats on being done!!!!!!!!! I sent my passport out today through UPS, I picked next day delivery so they should have it tomorrow. I will have to wait at least a week for delivery once they mail it out since I am having it sent to me here in Canada. Luckily I still have my passport card so I can travel as it happens to be I will be needing it!computergeek said:With a sample size of one, it took them 12 days from receipt of my passport to issuance of the COPR.
So the average right now is 12 days.
We should be getting more numbers to add to this soon, though. From other threads about LA it seems 2-3 weeks is typical.
THANK YOU!!!! Im so happy the long wait is "almost" over!nickolinasf said:That's great news to see from a February Applicant! Congrats Happylaw!
I hope that you can land on short notice - your timeline says you had your medical done in November 2011. If it was November 1, 2011, you're not going to have much time to land, unless they extend the medicals (which will take time...) Even if it was mid-November, that will give you a very short landing window. Funny - if they extend your medicals, by the time you get your COPR, you'll have almost a year to land (or the expiration date of your passport.)happylaw said:THANK YOU!!!! Computergeek, how long are the medicals technically valid for? My husband and I anticipated filing in fall of 2011, so we had our medicals done in the summer of 2011 and sent them in--but we didn't end up filing until February 2012. Is it likely they'll have them re-requested as per an expiry date of some sort? I feel confused about how this works.computergeek said:I hope that you can land on short notice - your timeline says you had your medical done in November 2011. I waited almost four hours after I received the COPR to land, so it CAN be done on short notice.
Considering you applied well after the 3 month mark of when you were supposed to apply (as in, if you got your medicals in August, you had until Nov to apply), I would go ahead and get another medical done. The expiry is a year after the medical is done.nickolinasf said:Computergeek, how long are the medicals technically valid for? They are valid for one year from the date they were completed. So, I had my medicals done on February 6, 2012 and the expiration date was February 5, 2013. That was also the expiration date of my COPR.nickolinasf said:Computergeek, how long are the medicals technically valid for? The three month thing is for the PCC, not the medicals as far as I understand it. Ergo, a PCC must be submitted to CIC within three months of issuance for it to be accepted, but it is "valid" for a year from its issue date.parker24 said:Considering you applied well after the 3 month mark of when you were supposed to apply (as in, if you got your medicals in August, you had until Nov to apply), I would go ahead and get another medical done. Not in writing no. The doctor who did hubby's physical said either 3 months or 4 months it needed to be within. Granted, doc might have been thinking of something else, but I took her word for it and have been stressing about it for a year now since we couldn't apply until March. Are you saying I've been stressing over nothing ?! (Something I do regularly :-[)computergeek said:The three month thing is for the PCC, not the medicals as far as I understand it. Do you have a reference that indicates you need to get the medicals in within that three month window Parker24?
The DOCTOR may have to submit findings, but I've never seen anything that indicates the receipt has to be submitted to CIC within any time period. It just expires is all. That's different than a PCC, since it comes from an external source that CIC doesn't really control.parker24 said:Not in writing no. I filed for my state background checks and my FBI at the same time didn't know it would be so fast for one so long for the other got both state checks in October 2011 got FBI Dec 26th but I didn't mail my application till April 20th so thats 4 months and they never asked me for new ones. *knowing on wood* since they already sent me PPR without requesting new ones should I be worried they might now?computergeek said:The three month thing is for the PCC, not the medicals as far as I understand it. Hmmmm I never knew that the one year for medicals has a connection to the time for landing. I thought as long as I got the ppr within the one year of doing the medical then I'll be good to go. I hope they issue the visa and send it back to me ASAP. I'll land the moment I get the visa or less than 24 hours later!computergeek said:I hope that you can land on short notice - your timeline says you had your medical done in November 2011.
