I wonder why they ask for so many re-submits? My husband I submitted all the documents required as per the original checklist for both sponsor and immigrant all together in February. I wonder how likely it is they'll ask for something like the FBI to be done again? The medicals I can understand if there's a health concern, but it just seems like there's a lot. :(

So did you submit your FBI with your application? You don't need to apply for FBI any more? That's great for you.Congratulations.
You still have to submit it. Some people send it ahead with a letter stating you will send the FBI letter when you receive it.

I've been in progress since August 10, never rec'd any kind of information or requests at all. I was talking to my pastor, who just sponsored his wife inland and he said that the reason they keep asking (usually) is because they misplace them ??? ::)

Parker24,

Just wondering if you can add me to the spreadsheet. We applied outland back in may but we are now about to move to BC and still waiting. So happy though that the husband can join me while he waits :D

App sent may 30
Approval for sponsorship july 20
file transfer july 31
Medicals done march 22

So the last 4 months when i check online it's still saying 'application received' is this whats happening to everyone? We all know how speedy CIC is.

So far, ours went into "In Process" on August 10th, and Medical's rec'd October 4th. Other than that, I have heard nothing :(

We've successfully made the move to Edmonton..got a nice apartment..got a good job...then bam..got an email from CIC telling hubby to disregard the request for the FBI they asked for and now they're just waiting on an extension of his medicals which are due to expire on the 27th of Oct. We should get PPR once that happens, who knows how long that will take, they said they had to request it from Ottawa.

CONGRATS CGAGNON!!! I was very happy to read you got your PPR!

Congrats to everyone else as well...it's nice to see progress.
Yay!!!! Great news!!!

;D ;D ;D On Oct 17th we received the long awaited PPR ;D ;D ;D

some background:
application submitted: Feb 7th
File transfer to LA - May 10th
not sure when the file was returned to Ottawa but on Aug 17th we received an email from Ottawa requesting new medicals (ours expired and for whatever reason we weren't considered for extension)...we were given 60 days to submit them, my husband did them right away and Ottawa received them on Sep 4th...eCas still doesn't show "medicals received"...

our PPR came from LA but the interesting fact is that since my husband is American (Visa exempt) we were expecting to send only copies of his passport pages, but he was asked to submit his passport with a return envelope via USPS...
"You are required to submit your passport(s) and photographs by MAIL within the next sixty (60) days from the date of this letter."
once again we were given 60 days to deliver the passport, I'm hoping they won't keep it for the 2 months and send it back Dec 17:)

good luck to those waiting...don't rely too much on eCas - it never had any updated information for our case

Thank you for the responses everyone! My Medical will be expiring Oct 27th but I hope I don't have to redo it because it is a fairly big cost. I would think they should extend everyone but I can understand health concerns on the government end. Silly question but what does PPR mean ?

yes simb, eCas for us still shows application received and no comment on medicals (even though we submitted them with our application in Feb and again 2 months ago)...I know eCas is fairly accurate with timely updates for some people here but doesn't seem to work for us

Congrats - that's a great feeling! Only thing better is after landing (it's been 11 days for me and I'm still riding the euphoria afterwards.)

That's identical to the e-mail we got. I submitted my physical passport (along with paperwork showing I had travel in 2.5 weeks time and it sure would be nice if they could get it back to me by then) as well. It's annoying your one option for return to Canada is "first class mail".
