when it comes to oil and gas....fort mc murray in alberta is a good place to have packages like CAD$140,000/- and above. but work hours r really tough, weather too bad (-40 to -50), social life is zero, polluted environment n recently a bear attacked a female worker and she died on the site.... ???
my brother used to live there but he couldnt survive there for more than a year..

Abu Hassaan said:Well, I also have doubt about salary level being doubled. 1.25 times can be digested based on my experience and information recieved from my friends but 2 times is kind of unbelieveable. Anyways, MH_UK is employed in Australia so he should have done some analysis already.
What I am thinking is that he might be referring to oil & gas and mining sector specifically. Salaries in these sector are quite high for employees based in remote/offshore locations. But it is almost similar case in middle east and other parts of the world.
