Ibasco,

What is your nationality?

By the way, few countries allow to renew passport within 12 months of the expiry date of the passport and few allow to renew with 6 months. From your post, it seems that you can renew within 3 months of expiry but that is not realistic because to get a visa stamp for another country, passport must be valid for a period of 6 months. Therefore, I suggest you to check again, you should be able to renew your passport earlier that May 2014.

Good Morning Mr. Abu Hassan,

Thanks for sharing....
I am from the Philippines, based in UAE...the problem is the processing of passport renewal in UAE for filipino expats is 6 to 8 weeks, even if they allow me to apply it the soonest.... and if I'll wait for that, i'll go beyond the deadline provided to me recently by LVO....the only thing I can ask the embassy in UAE is to extend it for six months....All I know is that, a person is not allowed to travel if his passport expiry is less than six months.....i don't know if the same situation applies for Visa stamps from other countries....but definitely, I am obliged to apply for extension by May 2014.....

hmmmm any more advice...many thanks

Sharedknowledge,

VO is referring to the application fee in the post i.e. $1400 (550+550+150+150) which means 2 adults & 2 kids including primary applicant. VO is not asking for Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF).

Dear Abu Hassan,

Thanks. So when should I pay this RPRF?

Sharedknowledge,

Yes, as soon as you and your family land in Canada and become PR, your children will have to pay fee in universities just like the other Canadians pay.

Lot of thanks, Abu Hassan. But, to be 100% sure, where I can find this information?

Congratulations Soundless and good luck for MR.

Many thanks Abu Hassaan, Truly appreciating your contribution

How do you suggest paying for RPRF?

Congratulations mate. Best wishes for the rest

RPRF can be paid any time even with the application itself. But I would prefer to pay it not before medical examinations are done unless LVO asks to pay RPRF earlier. Even paying along with PPR wouldn't effect the processing time, this is what I experience in many old cases of my friends.

That's correct most probably we will receive MR n RPRF request together. VO himself told me we will send you together to speed up the process.
