Hi Ketevan,
Just want to say a word to you Congrats :) :). I am glad u did it. looking up to you, I just pray and hope that mine is going to get the same ending as yours. Even though I am still waiting for the medical request and considering that December is a crazy month :(, let's hope to get it next month then fingers crossed.

Hi ledoux, thanks a lot! Christmas vacation is starting and we should expect a general slowdown of processing. This is why I spent fortune on travelling to London in person - my PPR says that it takes 6 weeks to stamp visas through delivery and we should exclude holidays. But in person it takes only 2 weeks :D

No worries - once you get medicals you will get PPR very fast because you have not lived in the countries which interest the intelligence agencies the most (unlike me :o :o :o)

I bought ticket for March 9th. I hope you land before me 8)

Great news :), u have bought ur flight ticket already, which company is it and how much did u spend if u don't mind me asking u? As I concern, having decided not to do a PhD any more here, I will probably travel as soon as I get the Visa by the grace of God. I wish to go there in person too if I am still in the UK by the time they ask for it.

hi ledoux, I did not have choice because the only company that travels from Glasgow to Montreal without connecting in a different country is British Airways. All others transit in New York, Amsterdam, Paris etc. and I do not have visa for other countries. My ticket was 610 pounds return (one-way is twice more expensive, so had to buy return :o ) but I am not planning to use the return journey ticket. The cheapest ticket was with KLM, 550 pounds, but I prefer not to transit via Shengen area. British airways was second cheapest.

I am now looking for a studio there. Found a place that seems nice - Berri Suites. So far the cheapest and the best location

Thank a lot Ketevan for the link. That flight ticket is expensive though, considering that u bought 4 months in advance anyway, as u said no choice. When I need the flight ticket, I will be booking through KLM then which is relatively cheaper than British Airway as I don't have any visa Schengen issues due to my Italian permanent stay even if was the case.
OMG!!!! ::) ::) U are already looking for an accommodation. Really thoughtful dude!!!!

Thanks for sharing all this info!!!!!!!
Lets keep in touch!!!!!!

I am also applying for canadian bank account online just now :D
Want to save time upon landing :-)
Yes ledoux, please keep in touch. Best of luck on your blood tests.
