LMO Processing Time Ontario

Is the processing time case by case? Mine was filed a month ago and I just contacted my HR and lawyer, both were still confident that I should get my LMO and WP within the planned timeframe of 8 weeks. Would it be advantageous if the company is very well-known and submit numerous applications for new employees from other countries? I just learned another new employee who went through the same process this year: got job offer in May, then LMO and WP, now has started working in ON. But according to some posts here, LMO processing just started for March application

Those employer who already received LMO in last two year will be ligible to file under Accelerated-LMO, other wise LMO are taking 4 months time. Ask your consultant whether they filed under A-LMO, it is not a surprise if they are just fooling you.

What is your job title and company ?

I am not sure I should disclose my company's name, but it is a well established multi-national financial firm with more than 100 years of history, and it brings new employees to Canada either through external recruiting or internal transfer all the time; and my job is at junior director level.

We respect your concern, you can PM me if you want. Declaring your prospective employer name is not offence by law so dont be afraid, there are only bunch of financial firms in canada which are multinational (Outsourcing is not treated as operating cross border for business). I am working in financial services for 7years across well established firms and know who is doing what in terms of supporting foreign workers.
Major banks except one and Major financial firms are not adopting LMO and rather applied PNP in rare cases. please make things clear with HR and Lawyers before you make any decision to move.

I guess you are talking abt M___L___

I know lot of people there, as I myself hold Business Analyst profile in industry. Most of ppl I know are from Syntel and from technical architect profile.

What i know is that they were ready to help for contract employees for work permit to stay longer on project, but I am not sure that HT is still open to do LMO's. I believe someone has misinformed you about 8 weeks process.

I recently called Service Canada to check backlog, they told they are processing it fast but still be prepared to wait for longer than expected time of 8-10 weeks. The only exception could be if Ministry attach a memorandum to expedite applications for particular NOC list due to shortage of skills otherwise the current timeline is 36-40 weeks due to back log.

I contacted HR and mentioned the 'actual' processing time as well as A-LMO, and they told me they will look into verifying the processing time, and do A-LMO if needed. The 8-week quote was from the lawyer

Ask your consultant or employer to bug them up by calling again to check the status of your application, They can request for expedited processing as it has been much longer than standard time. Now a days they are even suggesting to send a fax to attention of Manager Operations, Foreign Worker Program requesting to expedite process for applicants who are near the deadline of expiration of their current work permit.

So if employer call and say it is affecting my business due to halt in LMO processm they will expedite and process it faster.

CALL and CHECK with Service Canada Call Center
