India processing time is longer than the Philippines.

Hi everyone!

My lawyer sent the application for LMO around June 12th. The employer still didn't get the call from SC.
I followed up with the lawyer, and he said to expect the call anywhere from now up to a month (that was a week ago.)
I am in Toronto, Ontario, on Working Holiday program, and my WP is valid until Sep 12th.
Probably I will have to fill WP application before that date, so I can obtain implied status.

My question is, will there be enough time to get the LMO under implied status? I heard that internal thing is that they hold your case up to 60 days, and if you don't let them know a number of your positive LMO they just cancel the application... So we are taking about waiting time of 5 months, let's say Jun 12th-Nov 12th.

Any suggestions, ideas, solutions?

PS I've read that it takes 3-4 months, better to say 4, but in the last few pages I've also read that some applicants from March and April are still waiting so I am confused...

You in effect are applying for the visa and will obtain your WP at the POE. I've read posts of 6 months or less for the application of the WP/visa from the Canadian Embassy in Manila. Depending upon the nature of your job, you'd need to get POLO and PDOS (don't know much about these)

i have much worse case ... my lmo applied in november 2011 but still no news, i have a middle man but he even do not get file number till date. according to him the he receive lmo for the people applied in july 2011 now. is it take that long.

Yes you have researched correctly and your expectations are optimal, it will take 4 months and what you have planned is the best option for you, unless you could able to find an employer with ready Open LMO or he is eligible to file Accelerated LMO ( A-LMO)

It is possibly not that long, or I feel it is not genuine LMO are taking maximum 3-4 months and even if it is processed this late, employer can get file number any time after 3-4weeks of sending application.

It seems like your middlemen has applied for an ineligible employer or he is just a "Chiddibaaz"

Crosscheck with people who are already working for same employer in Canada and beware of frauds, it is almost immpossible to crack any ways in to it which is usually advertised by consultants in India

You mean POEA sir?I will be working as a farmer to ontario,Do you think I need to get POLO.I'm very much sure that I need to get PDO's,since everybody here in P.I need to get these before they leave the country(with work permit and employer except tourist).So it will take another 6 months or more to obtain my visa? I't still a long wait,and I already waited for almost 4 months to my LMO.so all in all take 10 months.?thanks for the info

So if I do it how I plan to do it - apply for new WP and be under implied status, I should get LMO before expiration of implied status (60 days)?

Yes, make sure that you apply for work permit two weeks before the expiry date on your work permit to take benefit of concurrent processing

Yes, at that time he can ask for restoration of status ($200) in lieu of applying LMO again.
