Two weeks? I've read that even 3,4 days are enough, isn't that the case? Do you maybe have a link for any official writing where I can read that information?

Google "Concurrent Processing" or "Skilled Worker Operational Bulletin", refer to work tab on CIC website.
I don't have ready link, but it is very general rule which almost everyone over this website know.

I have same situation as Johnny123- still waiting on LMO, visa expiring on Sep 7, should I apply for exchange status to visitor or send new WP application with cover letter explaining that Im waiting for LMO and provide them file number?

Send work permit application or I wouls suggest apply online, don't forget to mention your LMO file #. Also try to call Service Canada and explain that you are running out of time, they will probably ask you to send a fax request to expedite your case due to shortage of work permit days left.

In any case just apply work permit so that you can stay under implied status and continue what you are doing right nw.

If you are applying for a work permit for a job that requires a Labour Market Opinion (LMO), you must now include the valid LMO with your application.
We are no longer accepting work permit applications without valid LMOs."

Is this something new?? What to do now?

I knew that you must be coming with this question!
Though they have published this on website but otherwise due to long wait on backlogs they are still processing work permits on concurrent processing. They will keep your file on hold for 2months and then you need to call them again about your results of LMO.

I have done this so don't worry about what is written on website, However make sure that you attach your offer letter, pay stub and LMO file # along with your work permit application.

You need to show proof of LMO by way of file#, it is not new you need to mention that it is for extension. So if it is new LMO in your case you need to submit "offer of Employment"/ "Employment Contract" and your LMO file#.

Yes I realize that I need to attach LMO file number and employment contract, but I still don't realize how is that related to pay stub, and why do I have to attach pay stub. As I mentioned, I work for the other employer at the moment.

OK so LMO's are applied in two case:
1) Wok Permit extensions (for Temp Foreign Workers already working on expiring wp+LMO)
2) New Work Permit (Fist time LMO's)

for existing employer who already have lmo and their employee work permit is expiring, Service Canada has introduced A-LMO and processing LMO in expedited form. So if you already working on LMO wp whihc is expiring soon, you have to attach fresh updated employment contract and a pay stub.

But as I understood you have different case you may ignore pay stub part.

That is what I'm going to do, send new work permit application online and cross my fingers that LMO opinion will arrive in less than 60 days.
Now, in that case (only with file#) is it better to apply online or by mail (in mail I can enclose cover letter explaining situation)?
Does my job offer letter needs to be only for one year or permanent?

I would suggest to create a cover letter and get all documents scanned in one file, i.e LMO application first page, passport and work permit copy and Cover letter explaining your situation and LMO file #.

Make sure that your employment offer should mention "Term of employment as Indeterminate" and Job type as Permanent full time.

Ok, thank you. The lawyer got back to me today and now I have a file number (probably he contacted CIC). What confuses me is that he said that Service Canada will call the employer from now till 2 months... 2 months? Isn't that too long?
