When did you send your application?

It was before....

Hi Members,

My employer faxed the LMO application to Service Canada Toronto on Oct 29th, 2011. They received it on Oct 31st, 2011. My employer called them couple of times until yesterday. HRSDC initiated processing in Jan 1st week, and gave a file#. Finally yesterday HRSDC called employer asking why there was no recruitment efforts (employer explained that I have been working since Sep 2010, and started as co-op student, and currently on post graduate work permit), and to send a fax of my current work permit (PGWP) and gave 24hrs to respond, which is today. My employer replied on call for the questions he had, and faxed them the work permit in the afternoon. This is week 13, not sure how long it will take from here, and my current work permit expires in 3 weeks from now. I am kind of worried, lets see how this goes.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Shiv

My application was sent on 8th November, but no idea when was it received. My employer did not update me about the file number being received from SC. I am hoping that I get to hear something this week. This is more than 12 weeks that we sent the application and more time from SC will create a big problem for me since my company will try to put me on a different project. Its been almost 4 months that I am not on project (for the sake of my Visa application). I think SC should understand this issue. They have been really ruthless in understanding the issues of applicants.

Just reading it now and going banazz.

My NOC is 0711.
Currently working on my postgraduate TWP for about a year and a half.
Employer will send LMO application this week.
My postgraduate TWP expires 4th of april of this year.

If I understand correctly I would need to get my new WORK PERMIT in order to keep working after my temporary visa expiration date, not just apply for one.

So can I still apply for my new work permit 2 weeks before my current one expires? Is there any chance of getting it without getting LMO approved?

Can I apply for temporary resident visa and not work work for free before my new TWP gets issued?

Any other suggestions? Thanks. Really frustrated now :o

My LMO application was sent on 24th Oct 2011 but still not received LMO :( :(
Worst my employer cancelled my offer letter as LMO is taking so long. GRRRRR
I am from India. This leaves me unemployed. Thanks to SC .... so frustated....dunot know what to do ..

Yes you can apply for a new work permit 2 weeks before your current permit expires. This will give you "implied status" which means you can continue working.
However, based on my experience it will be denied if you don't have the positive LMO when the officer reviews your work permit application.
