well the "cousin" is already in Alberta, as a carer in a Community retirement facility and she informed us that her old employer is looking for additional carers...so...we gave her our documents...and she forwarded to the employer...thus, we are outside Canada.... and for the processing she informed payment of 1000CAD, she also have shown a sort of an electronic receipt...with some of these details:

XttNo
Payin Date :
Xpress Telex Receipt
Applicant No :
Txn.Details
BeneficiaryBank
Cashier

She said though that the paid money will be returned if no LMO is issued

She said processing really requires payment....and that it really takes so much time...

She lied. Sorry. It doesn't cost anything for an employer to apply for an LMO unless they hire a lawyer or consultant to prepare it. And job-seeker is right. I just got an LMO for an employer in Alberta. We applied at the beginning of April. 5 weeks from the time they received the application until a decision was reached.

Hi,

This thread is interesting. Please provide more information.

Will the duration of processing differ is the applicant is outside of Canada?....
A foreigner?.....

No. The process for an LMO is the same no matter where the worker is located.

IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS RECENTLY OBTAINED LMO FROM ALBERTA? (LAST 2-3 MONTHS). IF SO, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO ARRIVE?

My LMO was fast: 1 week.
