Not sure. My employer said that she submitted "new" forms so I can only assume that it's with the new changes, yes.
You don't go to the bottom of the pile again do you? Will they fast track you a bit?jaybakerca said:Not sure. My employer said that she submitted "new" forms so I can only assume that it's with the new changes, yes.
Judging from the the conversation i had with my employer, she was very irate and pissed off with SC, she has the same contact who, of the 3rd time of asking has yet to start the process, im hoping that it will be fast tracked but who knows with them?britinvancouver said:You don't go to the bottom of the pile again do you? i hope that too, otherwise I need to extend my visitor visa, and spend another 150$ for that :-/jaybakerca said:I am crossing my fingers that i have the same luck as a fellow poster from alberta who was a manager in the service industry and got an approved LMIA in 13 days.

LMIA application sent in on mid August (think 13, might be a couple of days off).
Got a request for some additional documentation on Sep 29, faxed the requested files on Oct 1
LMIA approved and faxed to employer on Oct 2.
Went flagpoling at the Carway/Piegan border crossing yesterday to get my work permit. Super rude border officers that were really fishing for a reason to refuse it, was glad I made a very thorough and detailed folder with just about any possible documentation they could've asked for.

May I ask you what additional information you took with you to the border?jaybakerca said:This is great news!! Congratulations. It also bodes well for myself as it seems LMIA's in Alberta are getting processed much quicker than any other province.
So once you get your LMIA you can flagpole to get your permit? I thought you had to apply online and wait for it to be processed??Jo3r1 said:Just got mine approved and a new work permit

I have a question about it. Right now I am staying in Canada with a visitor visa. Once I get LMIA, may I apply it online or outside Canada?joolery said:So once you get your LMIA you can flagpole to get your permit? I thought you had to apply online and wait for it to be processed??
We should wait and see what Jo3r1 says, but it looks like if you are from a visa exempt country you can apply for your permit at the border and get it right away.Yuki0830 said:I have a question about it.
