Khrizzy,
are you the 1 from africa or from the carribean (sorry i don't know exactly your country) that approached me this afternoon and was asking if how many are from this forum that are present? because if you are, i will update what we have discussed when you left the building, we have agreed upon that each 1 of us will invite our own friends from the live in caregiver community of Toronto, its like networking business the more you recruit the better, each person has to bring or invite live in caregiver friends to join us.so keep on fighting KHRIZZY remember Atty. Fabregas is willing to support and join us if we go on stike. Have faith!!
I am the one that approached you Boyzone but as you can see this processing time is really affecting the phillipno community cos most people there are from your country but why cant you guys have one voice ? I am astound by this. I am an April applicant and a single applicant also but why people with dependants cant come out to fight for their family is more astounding ! it isnt about OWP alone but the whole processing time.

@ Boyzone- Im sorry guys i wasnt there today, I would have love to be there but Im in Alberta. And im disappointed too that there is just few that wants to fight for our rights. but that doesnt change a thing. Majority or not we will continue this and yes i have some friends that i can invite and ask help. I even wrote letters to Mps here in Edmonton and im gonna make some phone calls too to update them of the problem. My employer is gonna make some phone calls to some people in the government that she knew too to ask why is the processing taking this long. we will keep the fire burning guys. and we will not stop until we get what we deserve.

Oh okey it was a pleasure meeting you today at St.Paschal Baylon Church, why did you left early? you should wait a little while, but anyway we have to continue, those fellow LIC that show no interest in joining us motivates me more to fight for our rights.Atty Fabregas is just waiting for us to do the move. I still believed that we can make this happen..

hi guys, sorry, posting just now, need to have some rest because i got so exhausted with that very simple forum we had with ATTY. RAFAEL FABREGAS. anyway, I thank him so much for that informative delivery of immigration matters. Guys, I'm sorry to tell this but this event annoyed me so much, as far as i am concerned, i am not expecting 3-5 attendees to this event. sorry if i am offending anyone among you people but we don't need people to just talk in this forum, if you want a big event to happen then let's have the initiative to materialize it. anyway, glad meeting you there boyzone and irogko(correct me please if i'm wrong, sorry just can't remember so well). now, with no much ado, i am challenging each and every live-in caregiver from this forum who lives in toronto to come to open. let's settle a date for our first meeting somewhere here in the toronto area to talk about this matter. if you can invite friends with you, the better. what about that? ang hirap kasi nung ngawa tayo ng ngawa dito then pag andun na sa sitwasyon we cover up. He (Atty. Fabregas) has a point in saying that we should not trust people from any site because it's too dangerous talking to people we don't even know, but we have taken this risk because of the belief that we are sharing one voice. very disappointed about the reactions of several colleagues we had there awhile ago, sabi ko nga, hindi na lang sana ako nagtanong. Boyzone is true, Atty. Fabregas is willing to support us but he doesn't like to represent us for a reason that..... sasabihin ko sa inyo pag namaterialized na ang first meeting natin.....i did talk to him one on one. so guys, let's begin suggesting dates and places where we can have our acquaintance, thank you for your time. bibilangin ko ang possible members dito from toronto, if you can share this to your friends who has facebook account then better para mas marami tayo, remember that 2 heads are better than one. GOD BE WITH US.....

guys, wanna share one most important topic in the discussion with Atty. Rafael Fabregas: 4 steps to renew OHIP while on "implied status"

1. go to local OHIP office or Service Ontario office to renew OHIP.

2. OPTIONAL: get and keep transaction record confirming denial of coverage.

3. preapare an "appeal" package containing:

-cover letter stating caregiver's full name, date of birth, OHIP#, current address, cell number.

-provide copies of current and any previous work permit

-state in your cover letter that the caregiver is eligible for OHIP renewal because she is currently on implied status, awaiting her new work permit

4. submit the "appeal" to the OHIP Eligibility Review Committee by facsimile to (613)548-6557, ATTENTION: Sandra Berti

Note:Normal processing times for a decision is 30 days; it will be less if there is a serious medical condition(provide supporting documents).

I just fell shame from all nannies that's backing off.

We are not doing anything wrong, we are not killing or steeling someone, We are asking for at least answer why the heck only our process is taking so long? Why we can not have health care in the implied status? why the CIC can not send a OWP as soon as they receive our application? Worry about our application is not true? Ok, OWP with a expire date!!!

I'm by myself in Vancouver!!! If 1 nanny goes to the streets in Toronto on september 06 to protest, I will be on the streets in Vancouver doing my part. We are together we have to stick together.

Why are you so scare? We are not doing anything wrong!!! Please someone in Vancouver???

If you go on the first page of this topic, you will see that this topic was Read 58620 times!!!

I believe that at least 10000 nannies are aware of this strike...at least....
