Hey everyone, if you're having trouble linking your application try going off the info from your most recent GCMS notes. If you have not ordered them i'd highly suggest that you do it. I was able to finally access our application by finding out from notes that:

-my husbands FAMILY name was logged in as his FULL name
-the CITY he was born in was actually CITY,TOWN

it's little things like these; where either the officer makes mistakes or it's a highly sensitive search engine.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys can someone explain how to link spouse application to account? Didn't get AOR2 yet, but have spouse's UCI from TRV.

Basically if you create account with sign-in partner , you need to have Canadian bank account , so if you create account with sign in partner then can you add spouse's application to that account?

How to link my file to my cic account
Which information fill my sponsor details or my details ?

Is there a time-efficient way of logging into My Application? This is all I can figure out:

Start at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp
Link your paper app to online - click "Continue to GCKey"
Welcome - click Continue
CIC main page - click English
Immigration & Citizenship - click "Check your application status"
What did you apply for? - select "Family sponsorship"
Check your app status - click "Client application status"
Security - check "I agree," continue
On-line services - fill out form, continue
logged in - click "Find out how"
New window! Link your paper app to online - click "Continue to GCKey"
Welcome - click Continue
Terms & Conditions - click "I Accept"
Identity Validation - enter, continue
<my name>'s Status

I have tried different URLs, but when I go to check my status the next day, it tells me my session has expired & no matter what I do, I have to go through this process. Am I doing something wrong, or is this what everyone does? What I really don't understand is how I start by logging in to my GCKey, and after logging into eCAS I'm sent back to the exact same page, same URL, but when I log in the second time, it takes me somewhere new. ???

Hi

Please advise.

Thanks

I am FSW2014(NON Express Entry) applicant,

My Experience of "link application to this account"

I have been trying since month(or nearly year) to link the application but every time it says "No Application", I raised several technical complains all went futile, all the time they send me same steps to follow, which I am already following, finally I decided to do some HIT and TRY, so I incorrectly filled "Sub Category" as Express Entry instead of "Federal Skilled Worker", then finally my application get found and I linked the application to my online account, I double checked and verified the APPLICATION#, it was same as mine,

I dont know whether it is wrong or right, So the catch is for fsw2014 you have to fill Express Entry(although I am not Express Entry Applicant).

I'm a little premature probably, I know...BUT how soon has everyone been able to link their application from when their application was received? Mine was received Sept 7th (yesterday) at 9:40am. I'm not sure if I'm being told "no application found" because I'm too early or if I just need to play around the different ways of typing in the info.

It will take at least a week or more to have it show in MyCIC. It has to be scanned into the system.

Ours took 8 days.

Thank you! I guess I need to let it go for a few days :P

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for all the information here. I'd been trying to link my to our PR application for ages and had been locked out like 5 times. As it turns out I simply had to change the people included in application from 1 to 2 (although I still don't understand why this is the case as there's only one applicant and no dependents). Thanks to everyone!

Sponsor is always included in the family size.

Not always. I couldn't get it to link until I used 1 person.

It's a very confusing and arbitrary system, apparently.

Hi all, I was finally able to get the system to find our application. It didn't work until today - I swear I tried this info combo before but who knows. I can confirm that since our representative is using the paid representative portal it gives me the following message:

"Based on the information you entered, we found: 1 application

We see that you have a representative tied to this application. Your representative has access to your application.

If you no longer want to use a representative and access the application yourself, you can cancel your representative by filling out the Use of a representative form [IMM5476] (PDF, 647.96 kb) and choose "cancelling the appointment of a representative."

I have no intention of dropping my representative, just an FYI. I don't believe this shows up if you're your own spouse's representative.

The combination of information that I used to find the application (finally) was:

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my husband, no dependents.

It popped up saying 1 application was found. Hope this helps someone trying to link their account.

Complete frustration here, as it seems like some people have no sweat linking their applications and that it should only take a week or so after the application has been sent to the VO. Just wondering when I should consider ordering the notes for our application. We have ROA on May 30, 2016 (email received by me on June 17), and I have been approved as a sponsor (Decision Made = confirmation received Aug. 11, 2016). The file was sent immediately to Kiev, Ukraine, our VO, and we were advised that they began processing the first part of our application on June 16th, and my wife's side of the application they began to process on August 18th. The ECAS doesn't seem to be updated with any kind of urgency, and as yet (not for lack of trying), I have not been able to link our file. Our file can't be found when I try to link it. Would I learn anything from ordering notes at this point? Calling and emailing the CIC and asking for the IT team to provide tech support has been futile, as I just get unhelpful directions, advising me to do what I've already done, or that our application may not yet be in the system. This excuse doesn't seem right, as many on the forum have indicated that it takes only about a week for linking to be available. Thoughts and suggestions? Thanks!
