forgive my ignorance guys...what is AOR?
my application for pr and owp was received last feb.4, 2013...
i called cic 3x...the first 2 times the agent said my owp was approved last may8, 2013...the latest call i made, the agent told me that the document was mailed last may13, 2013...i'm worried now because i haven't receive it in the mail yet...any advise on what i should do next?thanks...c",)

Hey guys, hope u all hv been having a great weekend! @ natsy, congrats on your open permit being approved. CIC sends the permits via regular mail which I find to b very slow. From what I've seen, it takes around 5 business days to recieve regular mail fr Alberta to Ontario. Where r u located? I know in my case the call centre agent advised me to call back if I didn't recieve the permit after five days time. My suggestion would be to follow up with them as soon as possible and confirm that they have your correct mailing address and that no error was made on the address it was mailed to. I think that the waiting period for the mail to arrive is one that is filled with as much tension as waiting on approval. Yes it's great to head that it has been issued but you want to just get it safely in your hands. I hope that you recieve it soon.

Wow! You should have gotten your permit a long time ago. I hope u get good news today. Keeping my fingers crossed for you hun! As for the rest of you guys good luck this week. Good things r in store. Come on CIC, release more permits!

@freedomsong, i just called the immigration today and the agent told me that the document was issued on may2, 2013 and was sent may 8,2013...i don't know why this latest agent spoke different dates from the 3 previous calls i made...she said it's possible that the documents may take up to 4-6wks before it reach me...she also advised me to call on june 21 if by that day, i still haven't get my wp. they will print another doc and send it to me...arrrggghhhh! this waiting time is prolonging my agony! but i still pray it will come this week....c",)

Wow! That's so unfortunate. Every time you call they tell u something different. How is it possible for mail to take 4-6 weeks to reach you?! I'm holding out hope u get it this week too. I refuse to believe that mailing a document could ever take so long. I wish they would just admit when ever they mess up and try to rectify things as soon as possible in order to save ppl unnecessary stress. We have waited this long. Why punish ppl further? I honestly hope u get it soon natsy. When I was sending off my application I was seriously worried about a scenario like this to which point I even considered including a smaller xpress post envelope for the return of my open permit. At least there would b a tracking number. I didn't though n thank God my document arrived safely within five days. So may b persons sending off applications in the future could consider this. I guess the xtra money would b worth the peace of mind.

i agree freedomsong...but we can't argue with them (eventhough i wanted to tell them that i've asked canadapost and canadapost said that if they mailed it correctly, it shouldn't even take more than 2wks!)...i'll just pray it will come this week as i need it to apply for trv...i will be going home in the phils for Christmas and new year and sad to say, i can't book my tickets as i don't want to plan without my papers being okay....

HI natsy omgod.... just reading your post makes me mad too ... i dont want to wait that long for my owp .... all of us are just praying to have it in our hands and for you ..you knew its already approved but taking so long to get it jeezz... anyways i wish you good luck too ..hopefully this week you will get your owp

were the same i am going home to phils to this november ^_^ and i havent apply for my trv too ..maybe this july ..

thanks cutepinay...let's pray for one another...after all, getting our open work oermit and future pr and citizenship are what we have sacrificed for...it's not an easy job being a nanny but i trust God that all these sacrifices will greatly be rewarded...we'll just pray that He will make us more patient in waiting for the right timing...apply for trv as soon as you get ur owp...goodluck and God bless to us all!!!c",)
