Let's share timeline, PGWP March applicant

Hi Jubear,

I applied for a PGWP online on May 7th, and I have not received any updates from CIC till now. (No request for additional $100). I tried calling them today but they just told me that they haven't started processing May 7 applications yet and told me to wait. Do you think I should pay the $100 preemptively like you suggested, would that speed up the process? Shouldn't I wait to be requested? Whats the reasoning behind paying before they ask?

Paying the extra $100 has nothing to do with speeding up the process. However, paying before CIC asks is simply everyone's responsibility, especially for those who didn't pay the extra $100 during submission. You can pay and upload it on CSE or you can pay and keep the receipt such that when you are asked to pay at a later stage, you will simply upload the PDF receipt. Its up to you to make that choice though. Good luck.

I applied on April 28th and I have got no response yet from CIC. Maybe since we sent in a case specific enquiry for the $100 form, our processing is taking a little bit longer. Although, I confirmed that the form has been received and is part of my file.

I applied on April 15th as well! I got message to pay $100 on Sep 14, Still waiting now. can I ask you when did you graduate? End of Dec or April?

Yes, I highly suggest that you fill in your personal info such as address, UCI, Phone, etc.. Then scan and upload as PDF.

Applied: 7th May (online - paid $155+$100 at the time of application)
Blank updates: every F** month
Status: Approved (Today morning)
Mail: yet to receive.

So, CIC processing time was updated today.
Last update was on September 4, 2015 and now work permit processing time (online) is 120 days and they are working on May 6 2015 application.
If I am not mistaken, the last update was on August 28, 2015 and processing time was 114 days and working on May 5, 2015 application. THere has been no progress...

New processing time from CIC (kind of)
As of Sept 11th 2015, work permit online application is 120 days and working on May 6th 2015.

This is still the same as from previous update which was on Sept 4th 2015.

It seems to me that they have been focusing on study permit extension. (26 days - August 15 2015).

Processing time for the last 3 weeks:
August 28th - 114 days, May 5th
September 4th - 120 days, May 6th
September 11th - 120 days, May 6th

That was of daily dose of frustration!!!

For people waiting for the 100$ request, please note that I did not receive any email notification!! Thankfully I check my status everyday (Waiting Disorder lol). You only have 7 days to provide them with the receipt, so make sure to check your status often!

Got an email from CIC this morning saying that my application has been updated. Logged into my CIC account and it says that the application has been approved, status - closed. Finally!!!!! ;D

Paid $155 when applied, then paid $100 July 2nd and uploaded the receipt in about a week through CSE (no request from CIC). So, here's my timeline:

Applied: May 9th
Blank Update: June 8th, July 24th, July 31st, August 7th, September 6th
PGWP Approval: Sept 18th (day 132)
Mail Delivery: Pending

Called CIC last week and they told me that they were processing applications from May 5th. Emailed my MP the same day, but got no response.

1st time: Through email - last week of Aug
2nd time: In person - Sept 1st week
3rd time: Through email - Sept 1st week

** His assistant followed up my application every week and updated me about the situation.
This week (Sept 3rd week) Approved. (His assistant did called me to tell my file was closed)
