Hello all
Heard that issuing a new insurance card in ON requires around 3 months waiting
What about other provinces ?
Any province with less waiting time ?

Yes some provinces don't have wait times. You must intend to settle in the province and spend at least 6 months (or more depending on the province) living in that province or else the province can ask you to repay all the healthcare costs.

Yes of course
A friend is intending to stay but she is pregnant and will deiver by end of November
So which orovinces have no or less wait time ?

You can look them up. Not Ontario or BC. Leaving things so late creates problems securing longterm accommodations, finding a doctor to take you on, etc. Provinces are not stupid and are looking at people who give birth soon after landing so your friend should anticipate that she will be watched to make sure she fulfills the residency requirement. She also won't qualify for maternity payments because she has not worked in Canada. Picking a place to ,live based on healthcare versus where you can find employment doesn't make a ton of sense.
