Hi Guys,

I shall be submitting my Canadian citizenship application in couple of days. I will be travelling to USA for a week in middle of July. I was wondering if I should inform immigration about my travel or it is not necessary?

Also, I have not lived in any other country except Canada for more than 180 days during my eligibility period, so do I need to fill out "Outside of Canada form"?

Thank you.

Also, the physical presence calculator calculates my presence in Canada to be 1136 days which is 41 days over the requirement.

Is that buffer enough or should I wait for sometime before applying?

The buffer is okay if you are sure and you don't travel often and only for a few days.. but if you do travel lots especially Cross border to USA... Then higher level of buffer is better.. just my opinion

Depends on how accurate you feel you have been with your time out of the country.

If your records are 100% accurate and you are sure you meet the presence requirement - there's no need for a buffer even. The buffer is mainly to account for errors..so it really depends on how well you managed your entry/exit records.
