Leaving Canada after getting PR

Hi everyone, this morning we got our PPR (yay!), and so when we receive the passport back and enter into Canada as a PR, I was wondering if it's OK to leave Canada again fairly quickly after that. My wife has been here in Canada with me while she waits for the PR and so when she receives it she would like to go back to her country to visit her family for a bit. The reason I ask is because in the PPR email it says:

"If you have a mailing address in Canada and if you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre – Ottawa."

It doesn't expand on the three months so I'm wondering if she would have to wait three months after receiving her PR to leave? Thanks!

you are mixing things up.

what you quoted is specific to the PPR, not actually landing. They are asking if the applicant will be in canada for 3 months so they can confirm the applicant will be able to receive their approval paper in canada when it is sent to the applicant from ottawa. they aren't suggesting a person has to stay in canada for 3 months after landing.

A person can land then leave. this is not an issue. though it's not recommended to bring attention to the this at landing because it could lead to issues/questions with some CBSA agents. Also, at landing the applicant is required to provide a canadian address for the pr card to be sent to. this can take anywhere from 2-6 months to arrive, so if the applicant is outside of canada when it arrives, and is not a US citizen, they need to apply for a PR travel document to return to canada.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I might've written my question poorly, but I did mean once we receive the passport back with the COPR. After we come back to Canada if she left within a few weeks to go back to her country if there would be any problem. But, from what I understand from your post it is just to ensure that she will be here in Canada to receive her passport back with the COPR, correct? Thanks again
