Hi!

As opined by deba when you write this email in your compose email box do not leave any gaps in this address. There is a problem writing email address on this forum. When you write any email here it shows a gap in between. Hope you understand now. Thanks

Hi!

I didn't get you fully but from what I understood is CAIPS notes get updated after any new information is added in your file. You will have to order CAIPS notes again after some time to view any new information and they won't tell you automatically. Thanks

Thanks dear ,that is what I mean and I got the point +1 dear and thanks

Hi!

I am good. thanks

I think you are talking about this

http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/A-1/page-8.html#docCont

16. (1) The head of a government institution may refuse to disclose any record requested under this Act that contains
(a) information obtained or prepared by any government institution, or part of any government institution, that is an investigative body specified in the regulations in the course of lawful investigations pertaining to
(i) the detection, prevention or suppression of crime,
(ii) the enforcement of any law of Canada or a province, or
(iii) activities suspected of constituting threats to the security of Canada within the meaning of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act,
if the record came into existence less than twenty years prior to the request;

(b) information relating to investigative techniques or plans for specific lawful investigations;

I have no idea how to ask to release this information under 16(b). You should contact CAIPS authorities about this. Their email is

ATIP-AIPRP @ cic.gc.ca

Lana Nass at (613) 948-3066 by email at: lana.nass @ cic.gc.ca or by fax at 613-957-6517.

Re: CAIPS check
IT is not wise to get your CAIPS file unless there is obviously some problem
with the processing, such as very lengthy delays beyond the published times.
Don't ask for it just to find out how things are going.

Re: CAIPS check
Thank you so very much for your kind reply. The only reason I wanted to check is because at the time of interview they told me that in less than 2 months I shall get my visa, but more than 3 months has passed and no news. When I contacted the embassy by email, was told that "the verfication of my file is not finsihed yet and is expected to be finished in Feb. 2004". I do not know why suddenly the process is prolonged.

Once again thank you for your reply and I would greatly appreciate to learn about your comments about my case.

Re: CAIPS check
Mr. Humphries, what is the reason for this? Is it monetary or does it affect
anything?

Re: CAIPS check
It is an inconvenience for the visa office and provides little useful
information when there is no problem to solve. Also, it is full of short
forms and local office terminology that is difficult to understand.
