Officer at the gate checked my passport and Immigrant visa( I think she scanned it), asked few normal questions, I said i am here to land as a PR and i took the U turn and showed my CoPR ,she said keep the CoPR to with me, given a yellow slip and directed me to park my car and go inside the building. To the officer in the building i repeated that i want to land as PR, He asked from where i m are coming , I said i am coming from Canada , took a U turn here to complete the landing procedure.maza said:What happened exactly with you? Did they tell u that u r a permenant resident now? Did they take ur address and tell u that u will have ur pr in mail in 4-6 weeks? Landing is not just letting you in!!! How come u left before checking with them!?
that is true, technically you should have gone to us side and got admin refusal. I did my landing by making u-turn and got hard time by the officer at the booth. He mentioned proper landing is to leave canada (go to us side) and come back. But actual landing was very easy inside the building, didn't even ask any documents just requested kids ids.maza said:It is clear enough that for landing one should go to the us side either at Rainbow or peace Bridge as this for them practically mean u went outside Canada and now u r coming back to land and go in.
taking the turn is simply not useful and leave u at the mercy of the officer , seems this one was so lazy and just told u to go to a cic office. Go to rainbow bridge and land today.
Good luck.
They would cross your visa out with pen so that would mean that you used this single entry. So go and do your landing at the Rainbow bridge. Don't bother to drive - just walk )))) It's fun ) Was windy though, lolDimma said:Guys shall i try my luck in rainbow bridge niagra falls ?
Only concern i have is, today at peace bridge they just scanned my passport and Immigrant visa , but no stamp put on passport ,
Since the immigrant visa is single entry , any issues, is this considered as immigrant entry?
Dimma said:Hi all, I have successfully completed my landing at Rainbow bridge with admin-refusal from US, Both US and Canada Officers were nice,
Nothing asked other than passport and CoPR , Got a signed copy of CoPR with stamps(stamp on passports also) and officer said
i will receiving the PR card in 4-8 weeks.
Thanks all for help and guidance ,
So Moral of my landing story is, "Peace Bridge - U turn" is risky, landing may not be guaranteed always, purely depend on officer on duty.
Really? Mine has a total of four, all on the front, at the critical points.eds1275 said:Congrats !
Stamp on CoPR ? This is new to me. Mine does not have one.
