Dear seniors,

I got my driving license from the country of my residence almost 9 months ago ( less than 12 months). I am planning to do a short landing for almost 2-3 months.

1) Please guide me , in my case how do I have to apply and under which category ? G1 or G2 ? What is the procedure for my case ?

2) For my current driving license do I need to issue a letter from the ministry of road and transport ? As I said, I have a driving license of less than 12 months , so will it help ?

3) Some ppl are saying that if I am planning to do a short landing that is for 2-3 months , then it is not a good idea to apply for a driving license .. Is it so ?

While you apply and wait for the PR for your spouse, you can also apply for a TRV (Visitor Visa) in the interim.

Thanks alok4best.

Any idea if visit visa applications of such cases r entertained?

if i am planning for soft landing one month, is it adviseable to apply for health card?

I am planning a short landing for PR. Just wanted to know do my one time entry visa has to be valid at the time of departure if i depart without PR card? There is no issue leaving Canada with an expired visa? I am asking this because I will be transiting through UK and they demand that I can transit as long as I have a valid Canadian Visa.

Yes

Thank you Canada11

In filling the custom declaration form that we be given to us in the plane, what should we tick in the field: purpose of visit? there are three options : Study, Personal and Business. Also do we need to fill in the part B of the form( visitors to canada) ?

Would be v interested to know the answer to the last question too....

Apply elimination rule:

Its not Study nor its Business...

Only left option remain is Personal ...Your immigration matters are of course personal ;)

Great. I will also list the number of days (for me it will be 1 as I am simply landing and then will return next year for good)

Dear All,

Can any body help about this?

PR Card Valid till#21 Feb 2019

First Landed in Canada on#27 Dec 2013
Returned to Homeland on # 25 Mar 2014

To meet the requirement of total stay of 730 days, when should I re-enter Canada as till now I stayed only 88 days!!

Waiting for experts' comment.

I used an attorney so recall them saying that the PR card will last 5 years and within these 5 years I had to complete a three year period of stay within Canada in order to then be able to claim for nationality or I'd have to renew the PR card.

Yes. You could apply for a TRV. However it is not guaranteed. You could get it, or could not. It depends.

Add three years from the date of first entry

27-Dec-13 + 3 years = 26-Dec-16

Add 3 months approx ..Thus

26-Dec-16 + 3 months = 26-March-17

Minus two days to make it 88 days

Thus it it comes to 24 March 2017 is the max day you should land in Canada.

Reach 1 week earlier at least... Ideally reach by 26-March-2017 so that you may have 88 days buffer & may leave country for short duration in case of emergency.
