Hi Everyone,
At last after a long quest i landed in Toronto Yesterday. Below is my landing experience.
I travelled through Air India, Connecting flight via London. It was a nice and a very tiring journey. The flight was good from Mumbai to London but was equally too bad from London to Toronto (Not Good Customer Service in plane). I had a 6 hrs halt at Heathrow - London which was okay but Air India has only 1 Counter at Heathrow which has a very big queue for connecting flights and a lot of security checks at airport.
One thing is clear that if you have a PR for Canada you will not require a Transit Visa while flying through London but if you are changing Airports then a Transit Visa is necessary. This was one of the doubt that many people have who travel for the first time.
It took me exactly 1 hour at the Pearson International airport and clear all my checks. That was too quick, i expected around 2-3 hrs. The Immigration officer was good enough and did not ask me much questions at the airport apart from the purpose of visit and the amount of funds that i was carrying. He didn't even check the funds and beleived that i said.
Today i got my New SIN card, Opened Bank account, got new mobile number and visited the settlement agency to check the rest of the stuff.
The weather is nice and people here are too helpful and kind enough to give information.
I want to finish off my rest of the stuff this week (like permanent housing/Baby schooling/training rograms etc.) and then start looking out for a Job from next week.
Wish all rest of people on this forum Best of Luck and may everyone Land soon and fulfill their dreams. Please wish me best of luck and pray for my success.
Thanks & Regards.
