Hello Gigab,

I have just landed in Halifax Nova Scotia Aug 10., although we had relatives in the province...they lived very far from the city so I didn't want to bother them. We got a "Relocation Specialist" who did all the job for us. They met us at the airport, brought us straight to Service Canada to get the SIN, Medical insurance opened a bank account all on our first day. They arranged for a temporary stay and helped us with apartment viewings. Now we're on our 3rd day and we already signed a lease for an apartment and will be moving in over the weekend. Just an advice, don't book an apartment through the internet, you may not like the place and the neighborhood. I don't know if there is one in Toronto, but these Relocation specialists prove to be a big help. They helped us with the bus map routes, and you can ask them anything you want to know about since they were once immigrants like us at some point in their lives. Now they're helping us network to look for jobs.

Congratulations !! Wish you a happy life in Canada ....May I know the name of relocation specialist

Shubash

Scarborough is Toronto's border, It has a bus stoppage those coming from Atlantic Canada and Quebec. Victoria Park in Scarborough has a subway station that makes life so easy to commute all around the GTA.

Since many small companies have shut down and laid off their regular employees in the last few years, people have been flocking in these Blue collar jobs.

Scotia's employees are more foreigners friendly than Royal Bank.

Good that you didnt go for Rogers who would ripped you off.

IELTS is British Accent, Canadians talk in US accent. However, Indian have their own accent and they are so used to it that they get it hard to understand US accent. I never had any problem understanding Canadians at 1st place. You just need to listen to them while they talk, dont think they are white or theyre something different than us. This will do.

Kids will throughly enjoy Canada and its excellent educational system.

Keep us posted about your progress.

What are the charges these "Relocation Specialist" charge for their services? And from where can we know from them?

@ attituderockz I really liked your humble attitude though you were a banker in india you are ready to take up any job in canada...and ur well aware that initially there will be struggle.
My husband is least ready for such things and he says that he will only take up a good standard job it will become very difficult with his attitude to immigrate to canada and i dont think he will be ready to struggle also. ???

hi namasteindia
Its vv simple , all the struggles are only for the first few months or an year. but at the same time u will see ur kids really enjoying in schools and in community plus the weather allows u to work more than in your country. and salary are paid in hourly basis , so its coooool. even whn ur Hus finished his studies he must have suffered to find a job - so same - But the end will be 100% Happy ... Good Luck ...... :D

Good Luck attituderockz - All the Best . Think always if there is a down there is 100% an UP. Now ur making the base ,once done its going to be a Palace ...U will Enjooooooooyyyyyy...God bless u allllllll . Keep in touch and Help allllll new comers as far as u can :D
