Dear Sanjeev,

The amount will be in between INR 2000 - 3500, depending on the coverage, duration and Agency.

You might have gone through a thread started by senior member Qorax in this regrad, which gives all details related to temporary Insurance. I am quoting that link here:

Hi Rocky and Qorax,

Thanks for your valuable contribution in this forum and is very informative. I have a question regarding Driving License. I have IDP/IDL from Mumbai, India as well as my Local Driving Licence Card. Do I still need to take Particulars letter from RTO additionally? I thought IDL is a replica or sort of authentication of the local Indian driving licence.

Please advice.

Thanks
Abhay

Yes it is a replica, but unfortunately the MTO here insists on that "Letter of Authentication" from overseas RTAs for waiving our wait pd towards a 'direct' G.

U'll need to obtain that before u come here.

Hi Sanju

as a matter of fact, I have yet to do my landing. I'm in US currently on H1B and I'm actively looking for a job in Canada currently since 2 weeks now in my specific area of expertise without any luck.

I'm planning to finish my landing formalities this or next weekend and continue the job hunt from US.

I am not picky on the position that I am currently as far as I get something in my field because I know I can crack my way up once I touch any organization.

Let's see. hoping for the best... ready for the worst...

Hi Rocky/ Qorax and other seniors

I have changed my name to include my surname. Only my Passport carries my name with name surname and all other documents are without it. Will that cause any knid of problem once I land in Canada. Specially License. Shall I get it sertified from DTO that Sanjeev Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar Dhiman are one and the same person or not? Tough I have newspapers with me in which notice for change in name was published. I also have my old passport with name Sanjeev Kumar with me. What shall I do? Please advise.

i think it will not be an issue, but it will not harm to carry an affidavit signed by a magistrate...
