Laid off on closed work permit, options for open work permit

You cannot get an open work permit. You need to find another employer with LMIA to apply for another closed work permit.

I understand that I am legally allowed to stay in Canada until the end of my work permit validity (April 2026). Can you suggest?

No, you don't hold a TRP. You are confusing TRVs with TRPs. TRPs are special permits for people who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada.

No, you are not eligible as you are not on TRP as @scylla said. You can stay in Canada but cannot work for another employer until you have secured another LMIA to apply for another work permit.

I received ITA and was waiting to respond by uploading all the documents. My score was 641, but that was basis the fact that I was claiming 200 points for a major group NOC code. I had a valid job offer from my employer, but now it is invalid as the same employer has laid me off. I guess given this situation I have to decline the ITA, right?
