they don't offer manicures or any of that, i'm not sure that's really a doula-offered service? they're more around supporting the woman while they are in labour and helping keep them focused on their birth plan and making sure they have the birth they envisioned.. they also do child birth/newborn care/breastfeeding classes and all that jazz...

for my birth plans, i envisioned a lack of pain, especially after 26 hours of labour with my daughter.... guess i got my wish, my sons were both labour free! lol...

Hello everyone!!!!

I just wanted to give you guys the latest update... Last monday I sent in info to get the caips notes and also the medical file for my husband and I received a letter today stating that they received my request and that they will advise me within 30 days... I guess I am happy about getting something today as I am seeing some progress with the caips notes and medical file so I am closer to finding out what the heck is happening with my husband medical ;D

I am happy I got some news today!!!!!

Hey all! nice to hear all the baby news makes me wish for another one but.... with us still waiting for hubby to be able to come and $$ tight and our oldest having special needs....well I'll just live vicariously through you all
Discouraged today folks... haven't had an update ... do they EVER update? still just says we recieved you app in september. We moved back for our son to get the help he needs but now struggle with his life being upset because Dad's not here. I have emailed KGN to see if there is anything holding us back...sent in everything including medical and ALL fees.
today has just been hard .. wishing for update...any update you know. sorry for venting trying not to show it to the boys and they'll be home from school soon so i'd better pull it together.

Just want to thank you all for the info on ochi, wow, u all have so many connections there, my hubby is hesitant about going to ochi beacuse he says the water and beaches are bad.. do u find that compared to other places? I had a look at all the places you mentioned.. so we will see what he thinks too! I feel so releived today know ill be heading down there soon..maybe ill get some good new before I go!!!!

Chelley, no, the mani pedi isnt part of the doula service, but its offered in many of the packages that I have been looking at. They are outsourced, but it just sounded so nice. Here is one of the ones I have been concidering

omg Chelly...I know the person who started Discover birth. We've attended a few home births together and she supported my propsal to start my own midwifery practice in durham. wow small world for real. We refer clients to her all the time as she does amazing prenatal classes. I've been in the midwifery community 9 years including school and had no idea they offer mani/pedicures...wow....thats an amazing package deal and well derserved! i don't think its common but definately a added bonus for sure.
