the job thing hasn't been working out for hubby
he went to a job agency and applied for a specific job, they told him on a Friday he got the job and to go buy work boots then call them to tell them when he is ready to start. We immediately went out and got the boots on Sat, he called on Monday to tell them he could start the next day. They called him later on Monday around 1 pm to ask if he could come to work at 3 pm. He said no, my wife is at work and I don't know how to get there but give me a time for tomorrow and I'll make sure I'm there. They call him Tuesday at 1 pm asking if he could work at 3 pm...he says yes, gets the address and gets ready for work. I leave work early (from another city) to take him to work and when I get the address I find out it isn't the job he applied for or expected to be working at....this job is a little far and a bus doesn't go there. So he goes to work anyway. They keep calling him for this job and he keeps telling them it's too far and he doesn't know the bus system or the city yet...but they continue to call him anyway. They were so desperate for workers they sent a taxi for him on Friday and paid for it....the taxi was $40.00. They call him this morning at 6:30 am asking if he can work at 7 am...seriously??? it takes 25 mins to drive there and that's in good weather with no traffic
then when he says the place is too far he can't work there they ask if he just doesn't want to work. He says of course I want to work but I keep telling you it's too far!! what happened to the job I applied for? they said they are laying people off of that job so he won't be working there. Thanks for telling him!!!
So it's back to the drawing board for hubby! I keep telling him he has to explain his circumstances to them but I'm not sure he is. He is used to the Jamaican way of giving the least amount of info he can possibly give lol I keep telling him Canadians don't work that way, you have to be straight forward and to the point or they won't get it!!! lol he'll learn sooner or later.
