Am a may applicant. No interview nor passport requested yet.. did medical and police certificate which I submit same time with documents but I think it's too early for them to contact me.

I am a may applicant as well so we in the same boat

Happy Monday everyone!! I can't remember, does anyone have an interview this week? If you do best of luck. And hoping KVO sends back some passports to those who have been waiting.

Would be really nice if they would finish with all of us waiting almost a month for a decision....

I applied for hubby's visa before I filed for him (I still haven't put through his papers yet). We are waiting until Dec 2016- 6 months after marriage. In the mean time, he got a response to pick up his passport after only 4 days of putting through the application online.

thank you everyone for replying to my visitor visa. it seems applying it before sponsorship is a smart choice.. we filed for sponsorship first, and from what I've read, it looks like applying for a visitor visa at this point is not a good idea.

Just an update...I signed into my account today, it says file closed and application approved...still waiting for the passport to be returned...Ecas still says in progress though. Kingston is moving along well. Hope others hear something this week as well!!

Let go KVO lets go!!!

I wouldn't suggest applying for a visitors visa while PR application is in process... you have next to no chance of getting approved for it, which is unfortunate, I would've liked to of done the same thing last year while I was expecting our son, I applied twice for my husband even before permanent residence application was in process and they still denied him saying he didn't have enough assets back in Jamaica and they didn't feel he would go home because his family is here in Canada.... don't waste your money... as hard as it is to wait, the only thing to gain from that is possibly proving a little more your relationship is "genuine" and you want your spouse here. But I would say save your cash, and hope they get through quickly for PR. Good luck!

We had applied a few times before we had our PR in and my husband was denied for the same reason but we applied again once the PR was in after a few months and he was granted it. We applied online and within 2 weeks of applying he was here. They granted him a Multi entry with a 2 year expiry date and when we applied for the extension I asked for it until the end of his TRV which was Dec 2017 and they granted that as well. Currently he is back in Jamaica dealing with the PR part and we found out today that it has finally been approved and his passport is heading back to the VOC for him to pick up. He will be back home in Canada again next week.

Some info about the interview:

Hubby was called in 2 hours late, the interview only lasted about 15 minutes then he waited another hour for the paperwork. What a day, wait a year but then the last few hours waiting to hear seemed like eternity!!! Thank you GOD this is finally OVER.

A big fat white guy does the interview and started of by saying "if you don't lie to me, we will get along fine". OMG. He was trying to say we didn't mention getting turned down for the travel visa BUT we did and he kept saying it. Seemed like he was trying to get a rise out of hubby. Also, he goes over some questions multiple times like, where he will work in Canada and asked the name of the company, randomly throughout. He asked dates of when we met, trips, marriage. He constantly changes dates/year so need to listen carefully. I think he tries to get you uneasy so you will mess up the answers but practice before and stay calm.
Good luck to everyone!!

My husband had the same guy and the story sounds very familiar.
